Today's the day to take on some dragon missions! Let's go!!
".... ...."
At least, that was the initial feeling at the start of the day.... Looking out the window several hours before the afternoon would hit, the rush of wind was pretty strong; the dorm room was almost unnoticeably colder but she could feel the difference from her legs. Naturally, putting the two weather senses together, Rina Kasakura, from the Legold dormitory, assumed that it'd be colder outside - perhaps moreso with the wind factored in. The sky on this Saturday morning was a bit darker, too. "I wonder if it's gonna rain, soon.... ...Can I make it out before then...?" Taking all of that into account, this caused the tall, orange-haired teen to put on a slimming long-sleeved, white shirt, worn under a looser, white and light brown designer T-shirt. The T-shirt also had an important message emblazoned in rugged black text on the front: 'DON'T FEED IT!!' Accompanying it was the detailed face of a scarred, eye-patch-wearing brown bear, roaring in the reader's face as a squirming fish is pasted in front of the bear image's gaping maw. It was one of Rina's favorite casual shirts.
With a jeans skirt on over black tights, Rina had, earlier, considered wearing jeans pants instead. She opted not to go that route and thought of bringing them along in her backpack. "...---! Actually, ...!" Rather than that, an idea surfaced; she grabbed her light blue jeans and, from behind her waist, wrapped the legs around it, tying them together at the front - similar to tying a shirt around the waist. As Rina soon noticed after moving to a mirror to examine how it looked, the rear end of the jeans faced outward. ".... Egh. It's not too bad.... .... Cool." Now she had a pair of pants to switch into in case it rains, later!
"Better grab my rain jacket, just in case."
Once she had everything - including her backpack - and was ready to go, Rina, in her black winter jacket with single white and pink stripes, proceeded out of the dormitory and into the billowing winds, outside. There wasn't a drop of rain, yet, so that was good for the moment. If it were to rain, she wouldn't have to worry about it until the late afternoon or evening.
Why?
Because today's the day that she and Doku were going to sit and play the RPG video game 'Dragon Mission 7' at his Silvolver dorm room all~ day~! Let~'s go~!
It was around 10am or so by the time Rina reached the Silvolver dorm. It wasn't far, but in this heavy wind, which blew against her, it felt further than it was, on account of the colder air that brushed against her face.
Entering the dorm, she pulled out her phone to recall Doku's room number. She kept her phone out in case she was stopped by any Silvolver students along the way. But eventually, the redhead did find her way to the room she was looking for. Standing before the door, excitement and nervousness swirled in her chest. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves a bit before knocking on his door with a [knock knock-knock], using her lower index joint, then following it up with a [knock-knock knock-knock knock knock] using alternating index fingers for the fun of it. A faint, casual smile rested on her face as she waited for Doku to answer the door.
".... .... .... .... .... .... .... .... . . . . ...? ...Is he not---...?" Rina began to wonder what was happening. ...She used her index and middle fingers' joints together, but with a bit more force.
[KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.] Cupping her mouth to the door after ensuring that no one was watching: "Doku? ...It's Rina...!" The girl tried not to be too loud, understanding that it was only after 10 in the morning and others in the neighboring rooms could be sleeping. She didn't want to be a nuisance, either, so she only intended to repeat that knocking pattern 3 more times if necessary.
If he doesn't answer the door by then, she'd ponder over it before deciding to try sending him a message on the phone, saying that she's here. And if that doesn't work, Rina might just camp out next to his door with the assumption that Doku might be out on the road, buying the snacks that he talked about, yesterday.
Thankfully, Doku had done what he promised Rina the day prior. As soon as he had gotten home he went into cleaning mode! The purple-haired student threw all the stray soda cans and chip bags that were scattered around his room! Honestly, he was trying to impress his new friend! It finally gave him the motivation to clean up his mess of a room. All of his waste went into a garbage bag before it was all taken to the dumpster outside! Once all of that was finished, he headed towards the store!
Doku bought up some snacks for their day of gaming! Grapes as requested, while not his first choice, he couldn't just say no to a request! Back home Dragon Mission was all ready to go! It took a few hours to install, though that begged the question, what was the point of buying a disc? Well... the collector in him needed his media physically!
So... what was our beloved(?) synchro student doing? He was... asleep... Doku heard the knocking, at first he didn't react. However, the second wave of knocking caused Doku to roll out of bed, Rina would hear a rather loud... THUMB. "Ah! I'll be ri-right there!!" He called out. Damnit, his alarm hadn't gone off!
He snatched up his pants and putting them on, some simple black shorts. He headed towards the bathroom, grabbing his toothbrush as he started quickly brushing away at his teeth. Shit... this was embarrassing! Being late in your OWN room.
Once he finished brushing, he grabbed a unique t-shirt... it seemed to be a white shirt, plastered with the various Ojama monsters, with the text, "Ojama Party Time!" Weird choice, but it was slightly oversized on the short boy, but it was comfy.
As he opened the door, he threw it over his head, pulling it down. Rina would see that he was JUST getting dressed. "Sorry uh... Alarms aren't reliable..." rubbing his neck awkwardly. Stepping to the side, Doku would let Rina inside, she would see his (currently) clean bedroom. It was standard, but a few things stuck out, he had a large computer with a desk, a shelf with his manga, figures, games, and various collectibles along with a mini-fridge in the corner.
"Uh come on in, make yourself at home!" he lightly chuckled. God, he was nervous, not only was a girl in his room but his friend he wanted to impress!

Hearing the loud thump on the ground from the door, Rina's reflexive, flinching response was a confused arch of the brow. "What was that...?" After Doku responded, she waited for him for a moment before being able to put two and two together, her eyes blankly gazing ahead while her mouth was barely hung open for a few seconds. "Oh, he just woke up. Oh boy...." Nonetheless, she waited. As time passed, the redhead soon began to wonder if his room was a mess, too. As the thought came to mind, the girl mused over the imaginative of Doku scrambling to tidy things up.
A fair amount of time passed.... Rina smirked. "So much for being 'right there'," she mumbled, almost chuckling. Still, she waited patiently. Once the door clicked and finally swung open, Rina raised a hand with a victory gesture to congratulate Doku on finally making it to the door. "That sure took ya. What happ---...." It was then when the door swung open enough to see Doku, himself. However, his face wasn't the first thing she would see - in fact, she didn't see it for a bit, as it was covered by his shirt that he was only now putting on.
Le wut?
The Legold girl was totally caught off guard for a moment while Doku spoke to her. Wouldn't putting on clothes be one of the first things you'd do, she wondered. Resetting her mind a bit in order to respond to the young man, she said "Perhaps," in a bit of a haughty voice with her eyes closed, masking her real thoughts in the moment as she snobbishly walked into the room as a joke. Her eyes didn't stay closed for long, though, as she wanted to see the condition of the boy's room before stepping in too far. But to her surprise, the place wasn't looking bad at all; a lot of nice set pieces, too!
"Ooo...." Rina's eyes almost immediately fixated on the huge computer and monitor setup. "Sh'wha~...." said as she exhaled in amazement. She approached it, gazing over at the figurines and manga before reaching there. She was really scoping the PC, monitor, and keyboard out. "No wonder it cost so much...!" She couldn't help but gaze at all the other things around the room again. "How... how long did it take to get all these...!?"
Doku sighed as she walked inside of his room. Doku was rushing, so he did everything out of order. Man, he just hoped Rina wasn't mad or anything. With a chuckle, Doku watched as she studied his collection. She seemed to focus on the PC. Doku quickly explained himself. "Well, I worked overtime, took me about... a year and a half too save up?" He suggested, thinking about how long it really did take. "I've had it for about a year now." Doku sat down in his chair, it was an office chair, he swiviling it around, pointing towards, the figures. "These I've had for years. I'm not some snobby rich boy who can buy whatever he wants, so I gotta make sure I make smart decisions!"
A few of his figures were from various anime, a few... suggestive women ones. Doku didn't comment on those much. "A few of these are pretty valuble, but I just thinl they look cool sitting up on display... though you're kinda the first to see em besides me-" He rubbed his neck akwardly. He spun around in his seat, focusing on the monitors.
"I actually prefer physical media if you couldn't tell! I like getting the disc for my games! Something about putting the disc in..." He did just that, picking up the case of Dragon Mission 7. Cracking it open, Doku carefully removed the disc and slipped it into his PC. Soon after, Rina would be greeted with an animated cutscene for the video game. Full with some Japanese pop song blasting through his speakers. "Ow Ow!" Doku quickly leaned in and twisted the dial turning the volume down to a comfortable volume.
Doku opened his drawer, handing Rina a controller. "Well... Guess we should start?" Doku asked curiously getting a controller for himself. "I think we can crack out a lot today..." he laughed lightly. "Oh!" He pointed at the small fridge. "The grapes and drinks are in there, help yourself! I'll order the pizza once we wanna eat lunch."
Doku seemed a bit nervous. He had never had a friend over, much less a girl... after being late to opening the door. He just hoped he didn't make an ass out of himself in front of his new friend.

Shifting her focus from the figurines, Rina's attention moved to Doku as he spoke of physical media. "Hm," was her response to it as she watched him slide the disc in. Rina wasn't too much one way or the other on the idea. A lot of things were digital nowadays, but not everything. Rina had always wondered why that was the case, but there was never really a clear answer that she could understand beyond 'some people prefer physical things.' When it came to manga and games, if she couldn't get her mom or dad to buy it digitally, she'd get it herself, physically - or her parents would if it didn't cost much, or if it was for a special occasion. She never even thought about collecting figurines or the like, but in all honesty, she wasn't really sold on it yet, nor did she have the cash flow to warrant bothering with it. But it was cool to see someone else's collection displayed - even if some of them were on the more questionable side. It was all 'as expected' in her mind and she didn't think too much of it.
The game was starting up on the PC, but when the sound suddenly burst through the speakers, "---A'yeyeyeye...!" even Rina flinched in surprise, meekly shielding her ears by using her index fingers to press her ears' tragi (('tragus' plural}) inward enough to block out most of the high volume - allowing her to still hear the opening music at an acceptable level until Doku fixed the volume setting.
"I hope you don't always listen to things this loud; yikes...," she said, concerned over why the volume was so high in the first place.
As he grabbed a controller for her and himself, Doku figured they could clear a sizable chunk of the game today; Rina chimed in, saying "Well we've got the time. I'm a little rusty with Dragon Mission, but as long as they didn't change up the way the game plays, it shouldn't take long to get back into gear."
Doku suddenly spoke up, remembering to mention the grapes and drinks. When he pointed to where they were, Rina followed the line Doku's finger created, easily spotting the little fridge. "Oh, cool!" Rina ventured over to the fridge to check out the selection. Spotting the grapes, she immediately pulled out a thick handful and returned to Doku's side, popping one into her mouth. "Grape power...! Ready to roll."
Doku sighed rubbing his neck a bit embarrassed. "Well. I only listen to it with my headphones on, I don't use my speak much since I'm alone" The purple-haired boy would explain. A little sad, huh? It really was obvious he didn't have any friends. Well, now he had Rina, hopefully, they could stay friends. "Oh! Well, we gotta make our characters. Seven introduced this whole character creator thing instead of the traditional protagonist. They went for an open-world approach. Basically, we can get lost in side quests... Fair warning. I'm a BIG side quester. So we're gonna do a lot of those.' He chuckled.
Doku went to the character creator. "It plays the same, you move around the field and select your next action! What class are you gonna pick?" The list was full of standard RPG classes. Warrior, Mage, Cleric ext. Doku didn't spend hours as many people would in a character creator, just using one of the presets and tweaking it slightly, making it look as close to him as he could. "I'll just go with myself, I'll pick... Rouge~ I like speeding around with swords. Maybe I'll pick up warrior as a secondary later on..." There Doku went, already planning ahead for the future, which really wasn't needed. "You can change later so don't worry about your pick all that much"
Doku leaned over, getting the soda taking a quick sip. He placed it on the desk thinking for a second. "Oh, shit... right!" Doku pressed the start button enabling a second player. Guess he wasn't used to that huh? "I'll order the pizza at like noon?" He said. "I can throw in some of those cheesy breadsticks!"

"Well that's a little sad, the way you said that.... But it's still loud in the headphones...! ...You're gonna go deaf like that, y'know...," Rina nagged, innocently. "Then what? You'll never be able to hear it when a girl actually says 'yes' to you...." A faint grin surfaced afterward. Then she shrugged with a tilt of her head. "---Much less chat with her. ...That'd suck, huh...?"
-----
Then, when Doku mentioned that they'd need to create characters for themselves, Rina was intrigued. She leaned on the side of the back of Doku's chair. "They did? That's cool...!" The redhead was always amazed by the levels of depth character customization tended to have. Some even let you tweak the nose and forehead sizes! Those sorts of things, along with the array of costume pieces on display, could keep Rina locked down in customizations for an absurd amount of time. With the teen boy noting that he was a big side-quester, "You, too?" Rina's eyes lit up a bit as she turned her head to face him for a moment. "In DM5, I spent loads more time doing side quests instead of story missions, so yes, I'm totally in...!"
She carefully removed herself from her leaning position and looked for something to sit on as he continued to explain about the game. She considered sitting on the edge of the boy's bed if need be.
"! Ah, cool-cool," she chimed in, right after he responded about the style of gameplay. Thankfully the tall teen wouldn't have to relearn how the game plays; good stuff. When asked what character class she wanted to be, she took a moment and looked at them, thinking about it as Doku used his controller to work on deciding his own character class. "Mmmnnn...." Opposite to Doku, however, Rina was, indeed, the type to spend lots of time trying to get the character as close to what she wants as possible. This also included the class - and rightfully so, as it would directly determine how Rina's character would fight, among other things.
Doku, in the meantime, made his character relatively quickly - compared to the amount of time this side-ponytailed girl would have spent on it, on her own.
"---! Oh, there's secondaries!?" That kind of lightened Rina's mental burden. If she could add on a second class later, then deciding between two right now becomes less taxing. ...She took in another grape as she thought about it. But then, Doku dropped the bomb: that she could change her initial class later on. "O---. Really...?? .... In that case...---" after saying that, Doku realized her controller wasn't on. "! ...! Ah." Once that was remedied, Rina continued, now with a highlight cursor to utilize on the screen. "I'll go with~... the mage...! Attacking at a distance will hopefully keep me alive longer." Normally, Rina would go with a swordsman, but decided to change things up for a 2-player game.
Going along with the idea of making one's self in the game, Rina tried to make an avatar of herself. It was simple enough... except for one thing. ".... .... ...? .... .... Ugh. There's no side-ponytail. Guess I'll have to go with a regular one," doing so before adjusting its color to orange.
As that was going on, Doku noted that pizza will be ordered later on in the day. With the mention of those dang cheesy breadsticks, Rina quickly gasped and threw up a fist to the air and cried out "YES! DO IT! Yes, please!" signaling her approval before returning her hand to the controller to resume her focus on Game-Rina.
Once she was done creating 'Rina,' "That should do...," she selected the button to lock in her form in the game. "'Kay! Created!" A third grape found its way into Rina's maw. Parking that grape into the side of her mouth, between her clenched teeth and her cheek, Rina asked, "---Does the game get harder with more people in it? Is it one of those?"
Ace Monster: "Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird;" "Volcanic Doomfire"
Doku playfully chuckled. He really didn't mind her slight nagging. I mean it REALLY wasn't smart to do that kinda thing... hey, she cared~ The purpled haired boy raised an eyebrow. "Pff, I guess you're right~ Maybe you'll say yes someday?" He chuckled playfully, before turning back to his computer.
Doku looked directly toward Rina. She was also a fan of side quests, well her and Doku were sure gonna be into a... LONG game with one another. "Ah yeah, though we'll probably have to finish the game over a while..." She folded his arms as he thought. "You can come over whenever you want!" He somewhat akwardly rubbed his neck, did that sound desperate? Oh god he hoped not...
Doku didn't mind that she took a while making her character. I mean it was gonna be her avatar throughout their journey, so may make them as likeable as possible. A mage? No doubt a rouge and a mage would make some interesting stories. A speedster and a nuke... watching Rina pick her class and make her character Doku whistled. "Damn, she does look like you..." he leaned foward, getting a better look at the character. "Secondaries are pretty new yeah, they were added in six!" He explained. "We get em at like level... 25 I think? You can pick anything you want as a follow up"
"Side-ponytail, maybe we'll unlock it later? Or maybe they'll make it DLC..." he rolled his eyes. "They always add stupid shit and make people play for it." He seemed a bit annoyed with that fact.
Nodding at her finished character. "Alright let's get goin~" He smiled. "It scales, so we fight more enemies since there's two of us." He pointed at her. "Never done it multiplayer before!" He laughed.
In the game they would start with a simple quest! Find this old ladies missing ring. It wouldn't be very difficult, just break into the goblin cave, and clear it out~
Doku sipped another bit of his soda. "What element of magic did you start with?" He asks his newfound partner. "I basically can sneak way better."
Doku Text Color: "#d619e6" Yuki Text Color: "#07dbe4" Ace Monster: Aromaseraphy Sweet Majoram
Doku musing at the possibility of Rina being the one to say yes caused the girl to instantly tighten her eyes shut and shine a bright toothy grin as her smile fit surged upon her and continued to build up. Chuckling sounded off briefly as it began, followed by a reply of "Heh. Maybe; doubt it," as she sportively arched a brow and grinned his way.
---- The duo chatted about side quests for a short while, with Doku making note that their playthrough would take quite some time as a result of all their side-questing. Rina agreed. With the offer put up to come over anytime to finish the game, Rina replied "Cool," without much thought put into it until after she took it all in. "We can plan them out so I'm not bugging him all the time."
---- As the redhead was finishing her character creation, Doku leaned in to get a closer look at it. Rina narrowed her eyes curiously at him. She wasn't sure what even needed such close inspection, but she quietly allowed it, wondering all the while as she worked on her avatar. After some more small talk and the completion of her character, it was time to begin the game!
Doku and Rina's first quest required them to break into a goblin cave. Rina followed behind Doku as he led the way. Approaching the location, Doku asked Rina what element of magic the game gave her to start with. Rina blinked in realization. "---. I didn't even check." Pushing a button on the controller pulled up a miniature menu under her avatar. Checking the limited options, Rina found 'Spells.' Looking into it..., "Firiz," she announced, which was a single-target fireball spell. "Should I use it to distract one or two of 'em and lead 'em away?" she asked in preparation. "Then you can kill them from behind."
Ace Monster: "Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird;" "Volcanic Doomfire"
That smile... Doku just laughed back at Rina, shaking his head lightly. "Never say never~" He chuckled. But now it was time to focus on the game at hand! Though since the game was brand spanking new, it was hard to guess how long/how many quests were shoved into the game. He'd assume a lot-
Doku ate some grapes and drank some soda as the pair arrived at the goblin cave! Doku checked the location name. "Goblin Cave" how... original. The cave was lined with animal bones. Spooky... So Rina had a fire spell to start? Nice, hopefully, those goblins were weak to fire. Doku looked through his own skillset, "I have smokescreen annnnnd backstab, so your plan sounds good! I'll drop a smokescreen, you chuck some fireballs, and I'll backstab em before they know I'm there~" He chuckled.
With that, it was time to act! Doku marched into the cave, with his dagger drawn. It was time for combat! With some epic music blasting through the speakers! A little more hype than it should be for just some level one goblins. With that, Doku held down his ability button! Using the smokescreen skill and disappearing from view. Hopefully, their strategy would go off without a hitch. Three goblins would be their opponent. Doku's avatar appeared behind the group, awaiting Rina's spell! Doku placed the controller down for a second, sipping his soda as he streached. "Aight, you're up Rina~"
