In terms of her outward appearance, though Rina is 1/2 Japanese by her father and 1/2 American through her mother, Rina appears far more American than Japanese. A tall, relatively slender girl with a little muscle on her, she stands at about 5'8", weighing somewhere around 120 to 130 lbs. Her bluish-colored eyes come with a hint of purple. (In the RP, they'll simply be referred to as being blue, or bluish.) Her hair takes on a fair shade of orange, roughly the color of the fruit's skin. With loose bangs partly over her forehead, Rina is always seen with her hair done up in a long ponytail on her right-hand side, at an angle up and towards the back: a side ponytail, essentially. When loose, her hair comes down to around the middle of her back.
The hair-ties that she uses mostly all have two plastic or glass balls at the top: 'twin-beaded hair ties.' The redhead's favorite two hair ties happen to carry the designs of eyeballs and purple hypnotic swirls. Her most important one was given to her by her grandmother; they had white orbs decorated with the Japanese characters "笑" and "顔" respectively. The "笑顔" means a 'smiling face' or a 'smile.'
When it comes to casual clothing, bright colors often catch her fancy; she may even wear white with the accompaniment of such colors. Her go-to palette for clothes (most often her tops) are violet, yellow, and/or blue.

- Sour conversations
Ms. Kasakura has the air of a friendly individual; even a hint of maturity in certain cases. Friend or otherwise, she will give you the time of day to say your piece. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that she'll have a response worthy of conversation. She may resort to simple affirmations of acknowledgement or deadpan retorts if she doesn't have anything to say in the matter, effectively - and sometimes unwittingly - ending that conversation.
Also, stemming from that, while she doesn't mind hearing people out or engaging in "shooting the breeze," Rina subconsciously also doesn't want to be stuck listening to uninteresting dialogue for too long - but probably won't say anything until it reaches the burnout point. The redhead would also rather stay away from sad topics, altogether, as she's unsure of how to handle them and would rather not depress herself by being a part of the conversation, if humanely/respectfully possible. On the other hand, give her a topic she's interested in, and she'll talk your ear off, if you let her.
Her greetings tend to be energetic in nature. Whether it's with sloppy pluralization or a repetition of words, she brings a feeling of openness to others, allowing them to speak freely and comfortably around her.
With people whom she feels comfortable around, Rina's more playful side seeps through the cracks of her casual friendliness. Some fun or harmless verbal jabs may find themselves launched during these times. Her sense of humour is just barely being tempered, so her range is fairly widespread.
In the past, many things that she had said were misunderstood, which led to frustration after frustration. As such, when it comes to details, she may over-explain, over-question, or simply think harder or deeper about things than people believe she needs to.
Away from public sight, Rina's a very "to herself" kind of girl who heavily occupies her own head space with imaginative thoughts or fictional scenarios - even while she's gaming on her console or handheld device. Outside of homework, studying, and gaming, she takes pleasure in watching comedic and/or engaging programming and reading social media, all of which has begun to have a hand in shaping her mentality and thought process - like being more accepting of things than most other people would.
HISTORY
Rina was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but grew up mostly in Silvershine, Europe, moving to the location for parental business around second grade. The youngest of 4 offspring to Naomi and Renji Kasakura, the orange-haired girl was the more quiet member of the family: getting to grow up with a game console and indulging in others' social media and other independent things. The last of her older siblings, Jin, had moved out of the household by the time Rina was 10 years old, leaving her as the only youth in the quality middle-class home one could expect on Silvershine's mainland.
The redhead was raised to be studious and respectful, which Rina took seriously - if only to not raise the ire of her parents. This awarded her gifts whenever she achieved or overachieved, helping her learn the value of following instructions. Of course, as a child, she always made sure to have her fun, too, and her parents were never going to say no to that, as long as she was doing well in school. Rina grew up playing with superhero action figures, board games, and card games that her dad had kept from his youth. The redhead eventually grew into getting some of her own using her Turtle Cookies 'piggy bank'. Playing with action figures and telling her own stories with the characters involved was a lot of fun; getting into the one of the same card games that her parents had both picked up in their youth was great! Rina was a happy, entertained little girl. However, through these subtle actions, her elementary school days were spent rarely speaking to others unless they addressed her, first - her respectful side. She was mostly to herself and grew into being the type of individual who was more of a listener than a speaker. And in terms of the card game, she was more likely to quietly amass her collection, over-read the rulebook, and only duel with her father via tabletop than mingling with the other school kids and play with them.
Like some kids around the age of 12, she was being bullied by an individual - and their posse; in this case, for her hair color and quietness. All the while, Rina opted not to respond, partly because she was taught not to; partly for fear of inciting her antagonizers. Rina disliked the person and grew more exasperated with every encounter during this last year in the school. Eventually, it became too much for the blue-eyed girl to bear. One day, after being picked on in the classroom during lunch break, Rina primitively, yet savagely, insulted the girl trio in such a dark, mean way that even they were shaken up by it - probably just through sheer surprise. They were not expecting a cruel viciousness from the seemingly meek girl's words. They triggered a darker side in Rina that even the redhead didn't think she had. Still upset, Rina left the classroom - and the stunned trio - to essentially hide herself away and cool her head. ...The next day, feeling guilty, kind and understanding as she was, Rina apologized the moment she saw them next.
There was more to the story than this, but the bullying ultimately ceased after that point. Fortunately, Rina could start anew by the time the next school year rolled around.
Liberta Duel Academy was in her sights for a little while during sixth grade - mostly because her mother saw how much Rina enjoyed playing duel monsters with her father, and assumed she was playing it with kids at school. Rina had yet to express interest in anything aside from dueling, so it was assumed that Rina might want to get herself involved with something duel-related; and even if Rina didn't, the school offered other things that she could take advantage of, as well. Rina didn't dislike the idea of going to that academy, but of course, the thought of going to a new school made her nervous - as such things do.
While registering for Liberta Duel Academy, she presented her deck list to an attendant, wrote her written exam, and then dueled against three proctors, once each. Every duel was recorded and kept under her file. Within 14 days, Rina received her Dorm and Rank placement and uniform in the mail. All that was left to do was to prepare.
She opted to learn more about the intricacies of the duel as she tried to improve her game so as not to embarrass herself at the academy. Rulings-wise, Rina had an upper-intermediate level of knowledge as she studied the rulebook in her off-time in sixth grade. As far as practical dueling was concerned, for a good long while, she had found her groove playing defensively rather than offensively, as, to her, it was a lot more fun and flexible, but by the beginning of her last year, the game progressed to a point where her playstyle didn't seem too viable anymore, try as she might. Going on the offensive - which she wasn't very good at - was all she could do, wasn't it? It was only towards the end of the year that she had settled on a deck which encapsulated her love of "old-school" play and "indirect offense." ...It wasn't perfect, and it still lost a lot, but it felt more right to her than anything else, to date. Despite this deck existing, she continued to hang on to her old deck, hoping that, one day, it will somehow, some way, be viable again - with tweaks, of course.
