Learning how Doku auto-navigated to her character, Rina scoffed and responded "Clearly, ya lazy-butt. Make me do all the work, why don't'cha," Her character then walked in a circle and had Doku's join in "Time for a game of tag...!" She was mildly entertained with that for a moment, before Doku spoke up about the 'goodstuff,' catching her attention again.
The young man gave some opinions, and as he did, Rina furrowed her brows as she thought on them. Soon, he realized that he hadn't asked a certain question yet. And once he did, the bluish eyes of the redhead lit up for a split-second with enthusiasm. "Makin' da 'Blaze Fenix," she began, "the Burrrning Bombaaardment Bird!" rotating her character really fast for the moment. "You know it? The pyro and machine one. !---W-Well," catching her error with a roll of her eyes and her shoulders, "one of the two. ---THE COOLER ONE!"
Ace Monster: "Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird;" "Volcanic Doomfire"
Doku looked at Rina's controller, "You can just push the stick in you know? You can do it as well..." He rolled his eyes scrolling through his phone. Though he looked up as his character followed Rina's. Doku would grab his controller, fumbling it a few times before going back to manual control. Now guiding his character in the direction not letting auto run do it for him. "Your it~" Doku being the thief was a lot faster than the mage, so Rina would not be able to catch him. But hey, she didn't have to know that! Well maybe she knew.
Doku would stretch his brain, thinking of cards to support Blaze Fenix. "You could try Dyna Base" He suggested, "You could always add some generic fusions!" He suggested. "I know you use volcanic monsters so you have the Pyro stuff... do you have enough machines?" He asked.

"? Push the stick in?" She wasn't sure if Doku was referring to the auto-navigate or something else. When Doku told her how to auto-navigate, earlier, she had assumed that was the only way to do it, and she opted not to use it, just to watch the rogue follow her as she ran around in a circle. But if pushing in - or clicking - the joystick does the same thing, then that would be so much better than 'pausing' and selecting the option.
She pushed in the joystick, expecting the two characters to loop around in a circle, like a dog chasing its tail. But as Rina watched a few of the rotations..., she couldn't quite tell why, but the rhythm was off - or rather, it wasn't fluid. There was a lot of stopping and starting by the rogue as he caught up behind the mage, then waited for the mage to run behind him, then running again just before she'd make it, and stopping behind her again, resetting the cycle. It made her think of that old-fashioned science-y device with the clacking metal balls that she saw on the net: 'Newton's Pendulum.'
But before long, the cycle stopped, as Doku took control. "! Oh yeah?!" Turning off auto-navigation, the redhead sent her femme flammes chasing after the fleet-footed fighter, flinging fireballs, forthwith.
-------- If the rogue was not zig-zagging around, then it would be at this point when Rina would be able to put 2 and 2 together and notice the characters' speed difference. In that scenario, she'd make a face, realizing that she had been had, and that there was no way to legitimately catch up to him that she knew of. But after a second of thought, she grinned and realized that it would make sense for Doku's character to be faster than hers - which then led the girl to wonder if mages had the average speed, or below-average. Was the rouge fast, or was the mage just slow?
"How'm I supposed t'catch you; you're faster than me! What!?" She played along, following his trail as closely as she could.
-------------------
Doku suggested Dyna Base as a card that could help her. She was unfamiliar with the card, as a whole, but didn't know for certain. Doku brought up other ideas as a moment of vacant-ness swept over her attempt to recall the memory of something that wasn't there in her mind. When asked if she had enough machine monsters to even attempt the fusion, she nodded and responded "I totally do...!" then explained At first, I used Gadgets, but using up my Normal Summons to keep a supply of 'em: that rubbed me the wrong way. After reading up on some other cards, I decided to mix in some Ancient Gears monsters instead. I've been using them ever since. Their wyvern helps to add a bunch of machines to my hand right from the start, so it's pretty cool." She then immediately switched gears back to what the young man brought up moments ago. "---But you were saying something about generic fusions? And~... Dyna Bait? What does that do?"
The purple haired boy would find himself looking towards Rina as she fiddled with the controller, figuring out how to make her character auto walk, the redhead finally figured it out, Doku stood still for just a few seconds, watching his monitor as the two characters walked in a oval style shape which kinda of broke itself into a square...? Well the exact shape was difficult to pin down. Regardless Doku picked up his controller and marched forward, it seems his companion didn't want him to use the auto walk feature.
Doku laughed a bit, he would let off the stick just a bit. "Ah! So you noticed~?" He chuckled, "Yeah, my character is faster! Don't worry I'll slow down for yah" Doku's character would walk at a pace that Rina could keep up with. He wasn't that cruel to keep her way behind him! He jogged? It was hard, his character did a weird in-between animation of walking and running due to his speed. At the speed the thief was going, anytime Rina would catch up, Doku would run widening the gap once again, if Rina should close to the gap, she'd find it widened once again.
"Dyna base? Well it's a machine which your fusion needs. It just lets you use it as your fusion spell if that makes sense, you don't need to draw Poly! So any other Pyro with him is a way to summon your bird~" He explained, hopefully that was what see needed, a monster that fulfilled two of her requirements for a fusion summon, the Machine and Fusion Spell part.

With Doku's rogue teasing the mage with his faster movement, "Yooou...!" Rina tried to find a way to use her lower speed to lull him into easing back too much. She attempted slightly lowering her speed output when she seemingly raged with her character spaz-/jitter-walking on the screen "Aaargh!" using that as an inconspicuous way to slow down her running speed before continuing after the running rogue. This way, he might slow down a bit more. And then, when the time is right..., GO FULL SPRINT - back to full running speed - and if she's lucky, those milliseconds of Doku being caught off-guard would allow the mage to make contact with the rogue. But would it actually work...? Doku could be more attentive than he seems.
---------------
Hearing about what Dyna Base could do for her deck, Rina turned to - and gazed at - Doku, slack-jawed in disbelief. "You're kidding...! Are you kiddi---!? Something like that exists!? I didn't even know about it!" Rina was reeling. "And it doesn't use Polymerization?? Th---...," shaking her head, "That sounds awesome! It's practically perfect; oh my god! ...Holy co--- Doku, how long has this been around??" leaning towards him and asking with notable force and urgency in her tone. "Do you think the school store would have any singles there?"
Just hearing what it did clearly lit a fire under the girl. The last time she worked on her deck was about 3 weeks ago. Did she miss seeing it when looking up cards she could use? Perhaps. She was reading up on machine archetypes and the usual Polymerization-related cards, so her narrowed focus could have easily led her to lose sight of Dyna Base.
Rina's reaction always got a bit of a chuckle out of Doku, the purple haired boy would keep up with his teasing, he noticed she was going slower, and the rouge in turn did go slower, giving her room to catch up.
"I think it's a newer card?" He couldn't exactly remember the date when this card came out, but it was glad Rina found it useful. "The store probably will" This gave him an idea. "Oh shit, let me come with you, I need to get the new Abyss Actor cards still. I tried to get them from packs and got unlucky..." he sighed. Shaking his head, he stopped paying attention the game. This would fully give Rina her chance! She could catch the rouge if she were still focused on the game.
Regardless, Doku would check his phone again. "Oh. Shit." He turned his phone, letting Rina look. "New cards announced" It was... Volcanic Emperor. A new volcanic card! "There's a couple more here if you wanna look"

From the moment that Doku asked to go with her to the school's store, she was 'checking out' from the game of tag on the screen.
"Abyss Actor, huh?" she said coolly. In reality, though, due to her tunnel vision on her own decks, she didn't know about those cards, either. She tried not to make it obvious. "Ack," in response to his unlucky pulls. "Well, I guess yeah, sure," she quickly shrugged, seeing no problem with that arrangement. After all, "I was kinda getting ready to end it here for today, anyway." She looked at the screen.
As Player 2, she found that she was able to save the game, so she did, leaving Doku to handle everything that follows - but as she saved it, Doku brought up that next bit of news.
When she heard 'new cards announced,' she thought he was talking about the 'Abyss Actor' cards. She wanted to bonk him for swearing twice, but she opted not to, for now. Instead, seeing this as an opportunity to see the cards that he'd use, she looked at the phone's screen directed at her. To her surprise - and amazement - it was actually news for her.
"...---! Wait! Is that a---...!!" She gazed at its name and luster. ".... 'Volcanic Emperor....' Yes, a new Volcanic monster!! Sweetsauce!" cheering in place.
Doku showed her more new cards.
"For real!? Did the stars align, this morning? What happened?? ...---Well I'm not complaining; I'll definitely have to get those after they come out...!" She gazed and memorized their art for a little while longer - until he pulled the phone away from her, after which, she got up and stretched, about to get ready to go. "So how many of those Abyss Actor cards were you tryin' t'get?" Was he just really unlucky trying to get commons or something, or were the cards he was after just really rare and hard to get? She'd try to gauge and guess the answer to those with her opening question, not wanting to be too direct about it.
"Yep. They got a really nice new link monster! They help you get your plays going!" He explained. "He gives you nice link arrows for a massive pendulum summon!" The combos were flowing through his head! The boy would clap his hands snapping back to the conversation. He looked towards the screen as Rina saved, quickly closing it, leaving them looking at his desktop. "I opened 20 packs and didn't get a single actor card..." He exhaled, RNG screwed him once again.
Doku was not ready for Rina's reaction to this cards. "What can I say~ I'm your good luck charm~ Guess it was meant to me~" He teased the woman. "I have that effect I know~" Man, Doku really wanted to make himself seem cool huh?
"Oh! I need four of them!" He started counting after listing each card. "Super Producer, the new link sets up your pendulum scales and can get my field spell! Liberty Dramatist you give to your opponent which destroys my spell cards, which is a benefit. Dramatic Story is a new spell that summons more actors! Then the last card is Dress Rehearsal, it searched 2 cards from my deck. It's really strong!" So only four cards, which weren't exactly extremely rare.

"For a Pendulum Summon? Don't you get to do big Pendulum Summons anyway?" she thought to herself. While she knew of Pendulum Summons, she wasn't fully aware of how they worked. After saving the game and Doku closing it out, he mentioned how many packs he bought in his attempt for Abyss Actors. Rina, as she responded, was putting the second controller off to the side where it would seem acceptable, responding "Not one?? Wow, that's rough."
--------
A portion of her general excitement over the upcoming Volcanic cards was taken and swapped out for cringe amusement after hearing Doku's 'good luck charm' response. Having leaned over to see the cards on his phone, eyes still on the screen, she grinned, instinctively, then rolled her eyes back, along with her body, returning upright. A momentary silence as she was ready to chuckle, but didn't want to give him the satisfaction, despite being unable to wipe away her smile. "...." She continued to look at the ceiling vacantly, nasally exhaling to give herself a moment of non-silence. ...She opened her mouth to speak "...--- ...." but instead, a beaming toothy smile shined forth as she closed her eyes and shook her head, on the verge of laughing out loud, but not. A weird, writhing sound came from her throat as her head swivelled from squirming a bit from more thought on the cringe. "I can't, with you!" really trying to hold back the laughter, but some of it stifled through. Having 'lost the game,' she walked away a few steps and stretched "So stupid," but chuckling broke up that sequence.
---------------
As she got ready to go, eventually asking how many cards he was after, the redhead got an answer of 4. They all sounded really good - except Liberty Dramatist, which she couldn't wrap her head around, but would surely make sense if she knew what Abyss Actors were all about. "Sounds like it, yeah; two cards...!" She believed that they all must be rare cards, which would somewhat explain Doku's disheartening pack draws. She only hoped that the school shop had singles, as she wasn't to keen on buying packs after hearing her friend's story. If it comes to it, she'd have to buy packs, or even trade, but those are last resorts in her mind.
"Well, I'm set t'go. Y'ready?"
Ace Monster: "Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird;" "Volcanic Doomfire"
Doku laughed, he was trying to forget about his AWFUL luck, he was probably off better buying singles, he cant imagine them being terribly expensive after all. The school shop was usually pretty fair with it's pricing so he was gonna get it regardless. The boy would watch as Rina got very excited about her deck getting new cards. He understood, he went crazy when his deck got cards after all.
Doku was... weirded out by the long pause in their conversation, he... wasn't sure where things were going. But he would stay silent as well, watching Rina as...strange noises came from her mouth, he wasn't sure WHAT the sounds were, but they were... sounds. Doku would soon join in on Rina's laughter, it was pretty contagious. The room was filled with sounds of their laughter for a good bit. Once it had settled down Doku would speak up. "I... try to be funny. Guess I did a good job huh?" He lightened the mood.
Doku would stand up and watch Rina. "Wait. We're going right now?!" He didn't expect to visit the store right away. But he wasn't exactly complaining, more time to spend with his new friend.
