Liberta Duel Academy is a Yu-Gi-Oh! roleplay site set in an Alternate Universe (AU) version of the original series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, set roughly 50 years after the end of the Dark Side of Dimensions movie. Liberta Duel Academy is set in the city of Silvershine located in a fictional small country known as Silva, somewhere along the western coastside of Europe.
September through October 20X1 - Welcome, Class of 20X4!
The new school year at Liberta Duel Academy is here! Students - new and returning - are adjusting to their school life and getting themselves settled in. The entrance ceremony presented the principal's address, spoke of Dorm Rankings, and introduced the Student Council. Alongside the standard Master Duels, the experimental "Specialty Duels" were announced to those new to the academy. So unpack; duel a fellow or two; explore the academy and the city of Silvershine! Action; adventure; slice of life; it's up to you! How will you have yours unfold?
Unique, he says? "Only as much as anyone else," she replied, almost defensively.
Regarding the desire to sleep over, Rina remained silent, glancing away from the screen stoically, ".... ...." taking a page out of Doku's book, mimicking him as much as she could remember from only moments ago. Before too long, her lips curled; her breath filled her cheeks, and soon, she burst out in faux-laughter. Unlike earlier, however, this could not be left without words - at least, so she believed. Rina didn't want to have the possibility lingering in the air.
Going in all the way, she made it clear with a simple "H'No. No sleepover, Doku; I was joking...!" as she shook her head and 'drop-tilted' it at the end, implying that there was no chance of her being serious.
Once they began getting back into the game, they soon reached a town and decided to take care of outstanding tasks and/or roam about the town. Rina didn't have much in her inventory that she wanted to throw away, so she opted to forego selling her things and chose to chat with the NPCs of the city. Along the way, she'd end up finding a large vase with something inside that she could take for herself. There were a few NPCs who had side quests available, but only Player 1 could accept them, so she let Doku know of them to grab at his discretion.
The sights weren't too bad, either, as she looked at the architecture and their graphics.
The redhead found a few item shops as she wandered about and perused their stock, reading the descriptions of everything; a lot of flavour text, there. Rina wondered how much of what was written was true of the effects of the items and how much was just hyperbole - frustrated over a time in the past when she had no way of really knowing what some items really did for a lot of the game. Not having the specifics bugged her, so unless she had lots of time to analyze and make her own estimations, she was more hesitant to buy anything that wasn't basic healing stuff or very obvious weapon upgrades. On this occasion, she bought a bunch of the basic potions, several antidotes, and a couple full ailment cures.
By this point, Doku had likely long finished selling his junk, but Rina was going to keep browsing around until either Doku calls her back, they run into each other, or there's nothing left for her to look at and she goes back to see if he's still where he was or not.

"Not in a bad way! You're freakin amazing!" He admitted with a bit of an awkward laugh. He let out a sigh of relief hearing she was only joking. "Thank God! You had me terrified!" He said defensively. "With MY record at the principals office..." He stopped, changing his attention back towards Rina. "But! Just text me or whatever if you wanna hang out!" He suggested.
Doku's new dagger was really... shiny, Dragonfang it was called and it seemed like it was made from a real dragon's fang! (Neat). He went around and picked up every side quest he could, (he might of been watching Rina's screen). Along with that Doku walked into one of the shops Rina was in, showing off the dagger. "You know I got this from one of the bosses?" He held the red dagger in his hand. "It says it can shoot fireballs if I use it!" With that, Doku's blade soon shot a fireball, which was thankfully aimed towards the wall. "Wow..." he said impressed!
Though... the NPC shopkeeper simply said. "Please refrain from using magic in my store!" Though... the voice acting was subpar, a person who clearly didn't speak English dubbing the line. Good to know that even the most modern games had amazing engrish!
"You get anything cool from the monsters?" He asks, looking over at his second player. "Mages always got the coolest stuff in the last game, I remember I had a mage character with a staff that let them completely cloak themselves in water!" He hoped it was in this game.

"Yeah, yeah," taking the compliment with a bit of skepticism. "You're still a buttmunch, though," she retorted before taking a bite out of her last pizza slice for the day.
-----------
In the NPC's shop, Doku showed Rina the dagger he obtained with a fireball skill attached to it. The response from the shop owner nearly startled the redhead as she wasn't expecting a voice-over response in this scenario. As for the dagger, itself, getting over the voiced NPC, "But yeah, that's great! Another ranged attack!" She pumped a fist; "And double the fire power!"
When asked about what she, herself managed to obtain, Rina creaked her head to the side with a look of hesitance and thoughtfulness. "Mmmnnngh~.... Well... ---okay, so, I got a 'Runic Rod';" She dove into her inventory screen and pointed it out to him. "it auto-casts 'Depuard' when I fire my first magic attack - so we'd get a defense boost for a while and there's a cooldown after it ends..., the stats on the staff are better, too, but... it also has two wind magic attacks, 'Wiosh' and 'Fuwiosh,'" noting the single-target and multi-target attacks respectively, "and after the first magic attack I use that triggers the defense buff, I'm forced to use only those two until Depuard wears off."
In itself, there didn't seem to be any real problems with the gear, and with the mastering system, if she used the skills often enough, she could learn the wind skills and use them without having the rod equipped. It didn't seem bad, right?. So..., why, then, did Rina have this extremely reluctant take on what seems to be a good item?
Depuard [deh'pard] (DEF+Party+Guard) = Party gains DEF boost for x amount of time Wiosh (Wind+Woosh) = Wind magic attack to 1 enemy Fuwiosh (Fu+Wind+Woosh) = Wind magic attack to all enemies

"Yep! We can get some more damage in! It'll let us fight even better!" He let out a chuckle. "Though... if the enemy resists fire we're screwed!" He let out a sigh but shook his head, sliding the dagger back into his inventory. Now! it was time to see what his dear partner picked up!
Runic Rod? Well it was time for Doku to take note of the tools Rina had access to. Oh! Adding some defense to their party was gonna be a big help! "well doesn't that sound helpful? You won't be a squishy as you usually are~" He teased her. "Going all in with the wind huh? But it's always helpful to have more elements right?" He none the less, let out a soft chuckle.

Rina brushed off the negativity with an upward-palmed brush of her fingers. "Pshh, That's fine! I can still chip away at 'em - 'n' you've still got the regular attacks from your dagger, so it'll be like... 75% power? Maybe actually 85 'cause of your fireballs? We can still do it!" She then added "If it's got null-fire: then...." She glanced upward in quick thought before giving Doku her attention once more and producing a strong thumbs-up gesture, accompanied by a toothy grin. "Take 'em out slowly! I'll support you - maybe!" implying that the battle would essentially be a one-player affair, and if able, she'd assist with support spells - which she currently had very few of - also forgetting that she has a physical, albeit super-weak, wand attack.
-------
"Hey, I can't help that! Mages don't train with their fists, after all. Anyway," Rina continued explaining about her Runic Rod. Doku's response was quick - and what he said wasn't wrong in the slightest. More elemental diversity in offensive spells would make battles a bit easier on the team. Being stuck on wind magic wasn't that big a detriment, in a practical sense, too.
"I mean~... yeah? But...." But Rina clearly didn't see things the same way.
"I actually wanted to go, like, fire magic only, so... wind magic gets in the way of that, right? That's why I haven't equipped it, already; I want fire magic and fire magic alone. ---Well not 'alone.' Like, as far as elemental attack magic goes." Then with a dramatic stance and a pumped fist, she declared "I'm gonna be the greatest fire mage in the world!"

Doku let out a quick chuckle in response to Rina's optimism, it certainly was good that Rina was confident in her abilities. "I can backstab as well! So that'll do double damage~" He thought of the big numbers appearing on screen! Now that was a team! He seemed to agree, "Maybe I'll get a non fire dagger! Double our options" He suggested, "I can always use two elements ones in both of my hands?" It was a suggestion, but having more options was never a bad thing!
Doku laughed as Rina spoke about fist fighting. Well that was totally true. "I could spec into magic you know! But hey, my magic would never be as good as yours~" He tried to flatter Rina, though it wasn't flattery if it was true, if Doku invested points in magic and spells he still wouldn't be close to Rina in damage.
She wanted to be pure fire huh? Well that was always fun! "Well I believe in you! If you stick to a pure magic type you'll unlock a ridiculous power elemental spell!" Doku knew this from the past games. "They are... insanely powerful!"

"! Yeah!" With a wink and a thumbs-up gesture, Rina declared "See!? No problems; we gucci!" towards Doku's Backstab ability, having momentarily forgotten to take that into account.
The duo's max power limits were further raised by the boy's mention of wielding two daggers, each with differing elements attached to them. That definitely sounded cool to the redhead - and very beneficial to her, as well. "Yeah! If y'really wanna, I'm not complaining, dude; get it! ...---Oh, but that's probably not 'til later on in the game, right?" she asked, unsure if he needed to unlock dual-wielding or not - knowledge from the previous game he played.
-------------
Rina was surprised to hear that Doku's class could learn magic spells. At the very least, her miniscule class knowledge had become outdated by this game; but what wouldn't be outdated - or outmatched - was Rina's proficiency ceiling in magic. Hearty exhaling though her nostrils, Rina puffed out her chest and exclaimed "Hmhm~! Of course not! If you want magical mayhem, mages are the masters!" soon adding "But yeah: you can if you wanna - but only if you want to! I don' wanna force you into it or anything." She then began to wonder if mages could similarly - and usefully - spec into physical combat arts. Her curiosity exceeded the bounds of her self-imposed limitations. However, it would change her goal on this playthrough.
Later, upon hearing of a ridiculously-powered elemental skill: "Yeah!?" Rina was awestruck at the revelation. She didn't know about that! She then wondered if it was in the older game that she played, too - not that she would've achieved getting it then, anyway. The thought of a super-powered move highly intrigued the girl; she smiled from ear to ear while in thought. "Hmmm~*," holding back her chuckles of eagerness for the journey ahead. "That lit a fire under me, all right...! Now I just gotta find out what that ultimate fire spell is for this game...! ...I'm pumped!"

Gucci? Well that wasn't a word he heard often, or maybe ever, but hey, it was interesting. He let out a soft chuckle. Doku nodded as a response to endgame, opening his skill tree. "Seems like I can't duel wield until level 56" He tapped his chin, looking towards her. "But hey, once we get there I'm sure you can carry" He laughed.
Doku nodded, "Yeah exactly, my magic would be like nothing compared to what you can shoot out." He laughed. "It would be a waste of points so I'll stick to physical abilities!" He looked at his skill tree again, taking note of the things he'd learn in the future. "We got some nice synergy you know? Though I regret not picking a tank class..."
Doku would find himself laughing at Rina's eagerness to learn the spell. "Well hey, you got a reason to hang out more now!" He would say looking at the skill tree, "Says here I can get after images as well, that'll help distract the enemies"

"! Level 56? That far?" Rina chimed in with modest surprise. Level 56 was quite a ways away, after all, and she hadn't expected dual-wielding to come about so distantly into the game. Doku then quipped on Rina being able to carry the duo to victory by that point, to which the redhead grinned and responded half-jokingly. "Well sure, yeah! By that point, I'll be burning things to ash, left, right, and center - just watch!"
Doku soon made his decision not to waste his points on acquiring magic: respectable. Focus on what you're good at or what you enjoy; such were the thoughts of the redhead, but in not so many words. The young Silvolver spoke of their synergy with each other; the Legold girl didn't quite follow what exactly he meant, but out of curiosity - spurred on by the want of understanding - she spoke up, "The Tank class?" tackling, first, his regret. "How come?" thinking this might help clear up her lack of understanding. But if it doesn't, she would ask more directly.
Rina knew of the different class roles that exist - or perhaps only some of them - but beyond 'DPS' types doing lots of damage and 'Healer' types healing, she wasn't too aware of what they all did beyond what one could expect from the terms alone. As such, hearing 'Tank' led her to the thought of high defense and/or HP stats. Beyond that, however, she wouldn't know. She imagined a guy - a bear of a man - and assumed that Tanks would have high physical attack stats, based on her imagination.
-------
Later, after getting eager to learn the ultimate fire spell, Rina nodded in acknowledgement of Doku and decided to glance at her Skill Tree, too, out of curiosity - though she wouldn't say anything about its contents, out loud. Hearing that Doku will eventually learn an after-image skill, the girl visibly thought about it.... She understood what the skill's impact would be on a base level, but that wasn't what stalled her response.
Before long, she chuckled to herself prior to noting aloud "I'd just use it to be dumb and zip around a lot," imagining her character strafing and leaving an after image - then doing it again... and again... and again, in a square- or circle-ish pattern, then zig-zagging around. She illustrated this to Doku by using her finger as a proxy.

The purple haired boy would nod his head answering her. "Yeah it's a big time sink..." He explained. "It was really overpowered in in the last one, you got it at like fifteen, and what it did was practically doubled your damage! So by level fifteen a rouges damage output was doubled! So they pushed it WAY far into the game!" It was a valid reason, though Doku couldn't say he minded game breaking stuff like that, it was fun to pick the most broken things and rip into optimization! Though he'd rather not gush about min maxing to Rina, after all he did just want to play the game now, it was better to play blind the first time before looking at an optimal guide.
"We're like paper, I mean your defense is terrible, I can dodge but if I get hit it'll hurt." He pointed to the shields in his inventory, "I can't use those, they weight me down to much! But hey, stabbing enemies in the back and bleeding em is a whole lot of fun!" He laughed a bit. "Paladins can tank really well, but they're super balanced across the board!" sounded pretty typical for a rpg Paladin. "Rouges have always caught my interest, not being seen and one shotting people with back attacks!" That did seem very in character for Doku.
~~~
"Hey, I can totally do that, I can use it go get across small gaps and dodge around the battle!" He told her. "I have some high level boots that makes afterimage have almost no cool down! So I'll be like a speed demon~" He chuckled. "The enemies won't even see me!"
