A cool, breezy Friday afternoon contrasted well with the warmth from the mostly sun-bearing sky. At this time, classes had ended, and for some students, this period would now be their lunch break. Rina from the Legold dorm fell into this group. From the CLD building where she had her Literature class, she descended from its stairwell and soon exited the building alongside other students into the open atmosphere. with her backpack over one shoulder, the redheaded youth gazed to her right as she walked towards the main building that was straight ahead. The road leading to and away from the academy was immediately in sight with a highlight of trees and academia assets to behold before a winding road downward begins. One could easily forget that they're atop a hill. In the distance, she eyed the city, below. The notable architectures being the Silverdome and the more distant Kaiba Corporation. Every now and then, the wind tussled her side ponytail and bangs; it was a little strong, but nothing concerning about it. Normal weather for this time of year.
It was the last Friday of the month; with other thoughts on her mind, that one, just now, took root and sprouted amongst them. "...! ...Oh yeah, the month's almost done. I'll get my allowance, soon," she thought to herself. A bit of a grimace of uncertainty washed over her face as she mumbled "Saving money's so hard.... Why can't it be every week instead of every other week...??" The teen seemed visibly perturbed at the thought of having to hold back her spending again. On that thought, she remembered something from not too long ago. "...---! Oh yeah: ...after I get it, I have to be the one to pay for food the next time we hang out." 'We' being herself and Doku. They previously had a duel at the school store, and as the loser, Rina would have to foot the bill on whatever they would eat once she gets her allowance. But seeing as her income is severely limited, the cost of said food would have to be taken into account. ...Still, "Augh...." that meant less money in her pocket for cards or anything else. The girl accepted it, however; she was the one who added the rule to their duel, in the first place, thinking that she'd win and have Doku treat them to something nice, since he has a job.
Entering the academy, she made her way towards the cafeteria. Upon entering, she went to check out what was available. It was like an all-you-can-eat buffet - but not. The selection was very good, but you had to pay for every serving you wanted. The spaghetti and meatballs looked good - and smelled good - but the redhead settled on the pre-made tuna sandwiches that were her go-to while she was stretching her dollar. Accompanied by apple juice, Rina's purchase was complete. She went to find a seat at one of the many 10-seater tables in the cafeteria. About 70% of them had some level of occupancy. The other approximate 30% felt comforting, but also embarrassing at the same time. She didn't have any reason to isolate herself that much, so she chose to occupy a table with three guys at the other end of it.
She put her lunch down on the table and her backpack on the floor. Unzipping the bag, she revealed her binders and workbooks, pulling out her math workbook and a pencil case. "Math's next," she whispered to herself before thinking "Gotta finish this...," as she prepared to do the mini-assignment that she, at first, opted not to do, but thought better of, earlier today. She unwrapped her sandwich and took a bite. Then she getting started on the supposedly easy work that was exponents.
