Community Arcs (C-Arcs)
Have you ever wanted to get a site plot / story arc / RP event going?
You don't necessarily have to wait for a staff-run event or story arc, y'know.
Gather up 8,000 DP across your character accounts and you can create your own!
Community Arcs are basically the same as any staff-made major story arcs/plots or events that involve many player characters (minimum 5) or the whole site and can create above-normal conflicts - or can progress things on the site in some way. If you have fewer than 5 player characters involved, you can skirt the cost and this process!
Gist of How it Works:
1.) Post a thread on the site in the "Arcs & Events" forum to propose a [CANON] or [NON-CANON] Community Arc (C-Arc).
-----Place "[CANON]," "[NON-CANON]," or "
[FLUXCANON]" as a tag at the beginning of the thread's title.
{Important Notes (SHOW / HIDE)}- [NON-CANON] arcs are FREE of charge, and don't require my approval or attention - but must follow the "Terms of Service" or risk deletion at any point! Also be sure to label any related story threads with that tag, as well, when the time comes.
- [NON-CANON] C-Arcs still earn DP for thread completion, but only at the "Standard" rate, not the "Event/Arc (C-Arc)" rate.
- [FLUXCANON] means: when the C-Arc is completed, the staff decides whether the C-Arc is canon or not.
Anyone joining a fluxcanon arc acknowledges that it may not get to be treated as canon, or vice-versa, and will have to accept the staff decision made.
- If you opt not to leave a tag for the proposed C-Arc or forget to leave one, it will be treated as "[FLUXCANON]."
-----Be sure to note all the details that need to be mentioned - like how many characters you'd like to sign up, any sign-up restrictions you may have, any supernatural aspects involved, and if there's any potential for permanent changes to the status quo of the our RP universe. (For that last one: if so, you can DM me about it if you wish to keep it a surprise.)
(The #roleplaying Discord channel is where any community discussion on your arc can and will take place - you can have discussions at any point, before, during, or after you post the thread.)
2.) Send a link of the forum thread to #forum-requests to notify staff.
3.) Once the C-Arc is approved, sign-ups can begin in that same thread. Be sure to let the roleplayers know!
4.) When sign-ups are done, announce in the thread that you've closed them; I'll then re-confirm approval and take the DP payment at this time.
5.) Begin the C-Arc whenever you're ready.
6.) If you manage to finish/conclude the C-Arc, write a summary of the events that unfolded into your sign-up thread. After that, your DP payment will be rebated/refunded to you in full, enabling you to make another C-Arc in the future, if you so wish.

(Keep a list of the participants' characters, including any of yours, as they sign up, so that I know who to award DP upon the completion of your C-Arc threads.)
Alternative RefundsAfter taking your 8,000 DP payment when sign-ups close, aside from completing the arc, the DP can only be fully refunded if the first story topic:
A.) doesn't begin within 2 months after payment, OR
B.) does not begin a second round of posts [noted by the OP or another character posting a second time in the story thread]. In these cases, the story thread will be deleted.
If your arc otherwise does not get completed, I will return 4000 DP of your payment back to you. ...At least you tried; I appreciate that.
If the story/plot ends successfully (or well-enough), go into your sign-up thread, give me a well-written summary of how events unfolded in your story. Only after that will your DP payment then be rebated/refunded, allowing you to continue the story in a new arc (utilizing the characters made for it - or not), or create a brand new one.

(Be aware of other ongoing Community Arcs to avoid conflicts (especially if a character is in both of them)
(You may encounter scenarios where users put your C-Arc at a standstill - for various reasons; try to ensure that it can continue on despite that occurring.)
