height;
173cm (5'8)

65kg (143 lbs)
His hair is naturally long, though cut in layers to appear short outside of the ponytail and tied up side bangs he has. While outside the school, during the weekend, or after class hours, Allen's favorite outfit to wear is a black short sleeve hoodie with a starry pattern on it and a white shirt underneath. His pants are a basic, plain pair of dark jeans. During school hours, he wears the uniform jacket casually, with it unbuttoned. He keeps his duel disk on his wrist as it is also his smartwatch/cellphone. His deck case is on his belt, hanging from his waist on the back. He has a slender build, and due to that, he could easily pass as a girl if he dressed in drag. Assuming he didn't open his mouth.
He does, however, have a professional duelist outfit already. An outfit that feels like it can only be described as something a visual kei band member would wear, along with some make-up on his shoulders to appear like tattoos. The right shoulder sporting a red crescent moon with a dot in the middle, and the left sporting a symbol he saw in his father's research that his mother had showed him before. While using his pro-duelist outfit, he switches his normal deck case for one that hangs on the front of his outfit's oversized belt, in a circle box with a magic glyph on it.
PERSONALITY
likes; - Reading - Occult - Magic
dislikes; - Hot Drinks - Skeptics - People too concerned about politeness
Allen tends to be blunt at all times. He may come off as offensive, but that’s due to him speaking his mind. When he's not being sarcastic, anyway. Towards friends, he likes to joke and give people nicknames. He has a love for the occult, with magic being his particular favorite subject for it, and truly believes paranormal stuff exists, specifically that Duel Monsters has a connection to it.
HISTORY
Allen’s family situation growing up was… Unique, to say the least. He lived in japan with his Japanese mother Yuriko Akiyama, and his Japanese uncle, Juuichi Akiyama. His father, Blake Durand, who was of Irish and English descent, had died before he was born, but he's not sure how. Every time the topic has been brought up with any of his family members, they change the topic and avoid it. The most he knew was that he had passed away in Silvershine.
Growing up, his mother Yuriko tried to keep Blake’s work in the life of his son: Magic. Blake was a historian, specializing in the magical aspects of European and Asian cultures, as well as in his spare time being an amateur stage magician. Allen developed a rather large interest in the same field as his father, but it wasn't just limited to that. It was to all things magical, especially novels and folklore about mages, witchcraft, wizardry and most everything occult.
However…. Said interest earned him a rather weird nickname amongst his classmates. “Otaku mage” was the nickname, due to his enjoyment of the occult. The name started when some popular girls called him gross over having an occult magazine confiscated during a surprise bag search, and it never left him. His Sleight of hand tricks that he learned didn't help the moniker, for that matter.
Eventually, Allen’s attention got drawn to Duel Monsters, and the deck about the master of mages himself, Dark Magician. Having developed an interest in the game, Allen did research into it and ended up finding lots of urban rumors and some occult magazine articles about its connection to witchcraft. Wanting to learn more about it, and to get away from the same people he’s grown up with that gave him said nickname, Allen looked into boarding schools for duel monsters.
That's when he found out about Liberta Duel Academy. It met the criteria he was looking for, but more importantly to him, it was located in Silvershine. Having always been curious about what happened, Allen took the plunge and took the entrance exam online, having passed just above the threshold for A rank.
Hearing about his choice, his mother was reluctant to let him go, while his uncle sighed at the news, having been expecting something like this. After a long talk between his mother and uncle, she relented and gave her blessing for Allen to go, on the condition that he promised to not do anything dangerous and keep himself out of trouble.
So, he left home and crossed the sea, arriving in Silvershine to attend Liberta. All the while apologizing to his mother in his heart, as he was pretty sure he was going to break the promise he made to her. His goals being to become a professional duelist, and hopefully research more into the supernatural rumors surrounding the game, as well as his father and what happened to him.
