Arasen was by nature a rather open and social boy, and even a happy child, as much as one can be given the orphan situation. He seemed to have an innate pull towards other people and was generally an optimistic and positive influence on everyone he came in touch with. A dash of childhood innocence perhaps, at it's finest. His attitude and personality remained the same even as he grew older and was transferred to the Celestial Heart estate.
Growing up came day by day and Arasen would as anyone be exposed to a pletora of examples of the world's cruelty, unfairness and the general state of things. However as much as he grew and expanded his world view, his innate nature and attitude never really changed for the longest of times.
It was only when Arasen was around 13 years old that the change that made him as he is today would come. Kids at the Celestial Heart had their teachers, guides and primary mentors but they would also usually form bonds with many other older Celestial members, usually ones from the same branch as them and would develop a mentorship sort of relation. Often times informal before actually reaching an age where their required training designated a formal one, at that time the many bonds they've created with various older members, 'senpai's', would make it easier on the elders to decide which should be the best fit for the formal mentor.
The drastic change in Arasen's personality occurred when one of the mentors, the one he was closest to and considered almost an older brother of the sort, was badly injured in a speed duel on one of his missions and put into a coma. Such sudden change in Arasen's life and the brutal fall of what was essentially his duelist ideal caused the boy to rethink his entire approach to life and his tasks within the Celestial Heart. It caused him to realize the true brutality of the world and their opponents, to realize that they won't be playing fair or pull any punches and that there was no place for errors or mercy, thus taking a cold, calculated and efficient approach instead.
His 'old self' still shines through to a degree whenever he is around the younger kids at the Celestial Heart estate, where to many of them he is now one of the 'elderly brother' figures.
HISTORY
Orphaned at a young age Arasen never had the chance to meet his parents and due to the vastly common surname he carried tracking them down would be near impossible even if he tried to. As his situation dictated Arasen spent the earlier part of his childhood in a goverment foster home. Contrary to the cliche stereotypes of supposed mistreatment in these types of facilities, the kids here had a solid environment. Far from any abuse or neglect but also far from luxury or abundance. A trait Arasen displayed from as early as he could communicate was that he easily created bonds with other children, and was an overall happy and smiling child. Even with the less than perfect circumstances he found himself in the young boy seemed to subconsciously focus on the positive things his life had offered him.
One thing that played a major role in his life ever since he was first introduced to it was the game of Duel Monsters. The phenomenom of the game taking over the world and almost every aspect of the culture and daily life made common for kids to be fascinated and entagled with it. Arsen was not excluded. However what differed him from the other children of his age was his apparent talent at the game. Even at his young age and limited options all around him Arasen seemed to excell at the game faar more than any of his other peers, even more so than most of the older kids. The mechanics of the game seemed to innertly make sense to him and the dedication and thought he poured into his approach to the game combined with this made the boy somewhat of a prodigy in the orphanage. This could open a path that, if followed, could open up new opportunities for the life of an orphan as a duelist one day.
His talents didn't go unnoticed, not only by the orphanage he was in but also by a peculiar, friendly faced old man that visited the facility. Who was this man ? He was to become young Arasen's mentor and a person who's crossing with Arasen's life would change the orphan's path forever. The man in question was named Seichi and was one of the head figures of a grupation known as 'The Celestial Heart' – a group that rounded up talented orphans from around the country and took them under their wing to develop their talents in a certain branch the kids were deemed appropriate for. It was essentially a school for extremly gifted kids.
The Celestial Heart dealt with more matters than just dueling, under their wing are kids talented in economics, philosophy, ones with potential for political carreers etc. The prodigies were developed within their designated branch with great focus and intense regimes, with most of the kids not minding their day's being filled up since they wre pushed in the direction of stuff they were already interested in. The groupation was sort of a recruitment camp that worked with the interest of fixing the world for the better – sending each of their 'soldiers' to certain places of power with a mission to affect the certain branch with the ultimate goal of change – changing things for the better, improving the society or leading it to a new level. Such lofty tasks can't be expected to be completed through an individual so each of the chosen are tasked with making ripe grounds for other generation of Celestial Heart warriors to be implemented into the branch and continue the work.
Arasen's talent laid in dueling so he was of course expanded in that direction. His already impressive skills for such a young age being even more so honed and expanded. It was at this time that Arasen found another major thing of interest in his life – the fascination with stars and the universe itself. For whatever reason such things drew the young boy in ever since he was first taken to a planetarium owned by Seichi on one of the facility's field trips. The Celestial Heart society thematically had a lot of it's roots in stars, constellations and the universe. So much so that their emblem held homages to constellations, a lot of the art and statues around the school were crafted with the galaxy in mind and many duelists leaned on using decks with some sort of star and/or universe and galaxy themes as a way to pay tribute to their home and purposes.
Arasen's mission was to start of earlier than those of the other Celestial Warriors, as it was intertwined with his intended development path. The boy was to enroll into Liberta Duel Academy and alongside all of the normal tasks and responsibilities one would have to excell at the school Arasen would also be tasked with closely inspecting the Kaiba Corp's duel development branch that are the academies. This included the staff relations, their approach to student development as well as the psyche of the students in the school, especially ones that show promise of one time achieving a notable place in the world of dueling.
The entrance exam, developed to be a challenge for an average duelist of that age, was far from it for the advanced, fanatically trained prodigy such as Arasen. He aced the test, winning on his first turn with and OTK. The Ritual Summon focus of his deck placed Arasen Ishikawa in the house of Legacy / Legold.

((Leaving this as a note for future me: We've discussed about the deck and I've okayed it, provisionally (probationary), to test run the deck in the RP, hoping that things play out well. If not, tweaks will have to be made - or an outright deck change, if multiple tweaks go too far, or fail to resolve the issue. The character's user understands, and if an issue does arise, they will do whatever they can to fix the problem.))
