Tall for her age and with a rather lithe physique, Ariane tends to have a bit of a complex about her appearance, putting in particular effort to be as effeminate as possible without going ‘overboard’ as she personally believes. Her soft brunette shoulder-length hair is styled each morning with ornamental hair clips placed along her fringe. Below Ariane’s purple eyes there’s a notable beauty mark on her left side.
Beyond all this, Ariane tends to wear a baggie black hoodie, alongside a skirt and tights. Though her wardrobe style shows she has a particular sense of style that quite usually fits the current trends and seasons.
Notably, due to her height, slim figure and preference of baggy clothes, in addition to her tendencies to come off as aloof and quiet, Ariane’s sometimes mistaken for a boy. Hence her efforts to avoid this mistake.
PERSONALITY
Likes - Coffee & Sweets - Writing, Music & Art - Plush toys
Dislikes - Insects - Socialising - Getting woken up
Ariane Swain’s… best described as an introverted extrovert. She prefers to spend her time doing things on her own, she’s not particularly good at starting or holding conversations, yet if something holds to her interest, she’ll probably talk your ear off about it. Polite to a fault, whilst it’s easy to notice, despite her issues with conversations she’ll try her best to maintain a rudimentary conversation so as not to seem rude. However she’s somewhat of a cynicist.
She has a slight complex in regards to her appearance, as a child often being mistaken for a boy for reasons she doesn’t quite understand herself.
Given her usual silent and emotionless demeanor, it’s usually rather easy to notice a shift in her emotions & attitude despite the small nearly unnoticeable changes to her facial expressions. Whether it be an elated smile, or a judgmental despondent expression of disappointment, Ariane doesn’t particularly find it necessary to hide such emotions, not particularly fond of pretending.
Overall, while Ariane would prefer to avoid talking too much to those she’s not particularly close to, she does find it easy to divulge in things when she gets excited, or bribed by something along the lines of a café rendezvous. She’s aware she can usually be rather blunt or come off as rude, and tries to avoid doing so, though she tends to make sure those she’s not comfortable with are made aware of the fact.
HISTORY
Ariane Swain’s childhood was somewhat rough. Her birth leaving her father widowed due to complications, her mother and father hadn’t been particularly well off in the first place. That isn’t to say she wasn’t loved, far from it in fact. Beyond her father’s dedication to trying to keep her enriched, despite his concern about having to rely too much on family, family members from both sides—though particular his brother-in-law and his husband—would often offer to help, whether it be monetary—which he’d usually declined insisting that he wanted to earn it himself—or taking care of Ariane when he was far too busy to.
Her childhood growing up was equal parts spent with her father and uncles, an ex-professional duelist who’d become a manager for a duelist’s agency & a fashion model. While Ariane’s father had made an effort to make sure he was a part of every ‘important memory’ such as her first time on a bike, her uncles had made an effort to cultivate whatever interests she might have that her father couldn’t. Some of which being her interest in creative arts, and one of which, most noticeably being her interest in Duel Monsters and a dream to be a professional duelist herself.
Given the effort her father would spend on taking care of her—one that she’d noticed despite his best efforts to hide it—one of Ariane’s biggest goals in life is to grow up and earn enough to be able to take care of him in return. Given her goals, she’d aimed towards Liberta within Silvershine, hoping to learn from the best of the best after getting some opinions from her uncles. Eventually with her father’s consent, moving to Silvershine.
