September through October 20X1 - Welcome, Class of 20X4!
The new school year at Liberta Duel Academy is here! Students - new and returning - are adjusting to their school life and getting themselves settled in. The entrance ceremony presented the principal's address, spoke of Dorm Rankings, and introduced the Student Council. Alongside the standard Master Duels, the experimental "Specialty Duels" were announced to those new to the academy. So unpack; duel a fellow or two; explore the academy and the city of Silvershine! Action; adventure; slice of life; it's up to you! How will you have yours unfold?
Laura stands at around average height, with fairly pale skin and pink eyes. Her hair is dyed in multiple colours, and she occasionally switches to different ones when necessary for shows or album art. Usually left loose, she occasionally ties it into a loose ponytail, in addition to her trademark 'oni horn' hairstyle. She has several piercings, including three studs beneath her lip on the left side, a tongue piercing, six needle earrings in each ear, as well as gauged earlobes.
Outside of school, Laura dresses in fairly typical punk/rocker chic. Torn jeans, band shirts, short skirts with thigh-highs. Winged eyeliner, black nail polish, and a metric ton of accessories complete the look. She typically favours pastel colours, with an emphasis on her obvious favourites.
PERSONALITY
LIKES:
- Guitars - Egyptology - Music in general
DISLIKES:
- DRESSES! - Being told to keep quiet - Underestimation
Laura is typically a hyperactive sort of girl; she's bouncy, excitable, and full of energy at almost all times. She rarely thinks before she speaks, and she's loud on top of that. Despite her appearance however, she's actually quite pleasant, rarely getting into arguments or fights unless the other party really deserves it. It's almost impossible to embarrass her, unless you happen to be her older sister.
She's constantly trying to come up with new songs; tapping her fingers on a desk, humming, or scribbling lyrics in a notebook. Music is in her blood. She isn't very studious, though to her credit she does try her hardest in class. Her report cards probably say 'easily distracted'.
Aside from music, Laura's greatest passion is her love of all things Egyptian. From the deep, rich history behind it to the fierce eyeliner and general aesthetic, it's something Laura could talk about for hours if you let her. If she could come up with a way to inject its influence into her music, you can be sure that she would do so.
HISTORY
Laura is the youngest of three daughters, born to a reasonably successful family. Her mother worked as a legal aide, whilst her father is involved in mid-level management in the tech sector. Her eldest sister, Irena, is a fairly prominent TV announcer, whereas the middle sister, Amanda, just sort of... lounges around, doing very little.
From an early age, music took a tight grip around Laura's heart. From the first time she played with a brightly-coloured toy xylophone, she was hooked. As time went by she practiced many instruments, though at eleven she finally settled on the guitar as her preferred instrument. It was a hobby at first, but it rapidly became something so much more.
At thirteen, Irena surprised her baby sister with a gift; a spot on a local talent show. The winner would get personal training from a well-known artist, as well as the opportunity to work with a local studio to produce a full-fledged album. Laura, of course, leapt at the chance. It was a terrifying concept, but the brash, excitable Laura was raring to go. Over the coming weeks, she penned an original song.
So you can take these wings and I'll still fly You'll never see this through my eyes This time I've wasted Close my eyes and count to ten Things we've said, but never meant And I, and now I know
Success quickly followed, as Laura's performance won the hearts of the judges. A whirlwind of excitement swept the girl up. She still had to focus on her education, but as time went by she slowly learned all the tools she needed to become an up-and-coming starlet. Time languidly rolled by, as music was still forced to be no more than a hobby, but two years later, Laura finally released her first album under her stage name. "Loreille".
Met with near critical acclaim, her sound was rough and heavy. Dour, soulful vocals laid atop pounding beats and wailing guitars, she was a rocker through and through. But life didn't stop there; she was smart enough to understand that fame wouldn't last forever. She still needed to accomplish something with regards to her education, in the event that the music someday died.
She effectively had her pick when it came to high schools; the sudden influx of fame and cash were things most educational institutes would salivate over. In the end, however, she chose to follow in her sister Irena's footsteps; opting to attend Liberta Duel Academy. She'd always had a passing interest in the game, and maybe encountering like-minded individuals would be fun?
With a song in her heart and a guitar on her back, she moved into the dorms, ready for her first semester.
