Liberta Duel Academy is a Yu-Gi-Oh! roleplay site set in an Alternate Universe (AU) version of the original series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, set roughly 50 years after the end of the Dark Side of Dimensions movie. Liberta Duel Academy is set in the city of Silvershine located in a fictional small country known as Silva, somewhere along the western coastside of Europe.
September through October 20X1 - Welcome, Class of 20X4!
The new school year at Liberta Duel Academy is here! Students - new and returning - are adjusting to their school life and getting themselves settled in. The entrance ceremony presented the principal's address, spoke of Dorm Rankings, and introduced the Student Council. Alongside the standard Master Duels, the experimental "Specialty Duels" were announced to those new to the academy. So unpack; duel a fellow or two; explore the academy and the city of Silvershine! Action; adventure; slice of life; it's up to you! How will you have yours unfold?
Welcome to Liberta Duel Academy! The staff team is glad you've taken interest in our roleplay setting and we hope we don't disappoint! Before you can get out there with your new character, we'll need you to fill out a character application and post it in the "Character Profiles and Templates" section where you found this thread. Preferably, the title of the character profile would be "[Firstname Lastname]", but it isn't mandatory. If you prefer "[Lastname, Firstname]," ensure there's a comma separating them. Once you're finished, get a staff member to review it by placing it in the #forum-requests channel within our Discord server! You can have a maximum of 5 Player Characters, but your starting limit is 2. Unlock the rest using Duelist Points (DP)! Here are some rules and explanations if you wish for this whole process to go smoother.
1. If you're unsure if a certain aspect is allowed - or even exists - make sure to check with a staff member before going through with it. Alternatively, you can reach out to one of the members or staff for general information that could relate to your profile, just to help you make sure that what you want actually works in the profile and RP. (Written info on the site takes precedence. However, at times, a change to info and lore could be underway, so it is best to verify with staff on anything you're curious about.) Through all of this, please keep in mind that we're not doing this to antagonize you; we want to make sure your character doesn't break some aspect of the world's lore, regardless of how flexible it is.
2. As we're roleplaying an anime-esque setting, we'd prefer your face claims be in a 2D art-style as opposed to realistic 3D art. Both anime and western cartoons fit under this category, but someone like Danny Devito does not!
3. Please try to keep your face claim appropriate to your character; please don't try and pass off a 30-year old man with a moustache and rippling muscles as a 15-year old boy.
With all of that out of the way, we have two application formats you can fill out! Both function the same but have different aesthetics, so it's entirely up to your preference. The code can get messy, though, so it's recommended you steer clear from touching it! You can even use your own template as long as all of the info is there and easy to see and edit through, in case you want edits done after approval. You can add additional fields if you feel the need to, as well.
