It was just a normal for Riku. Classes in the morning, studying afterwards - the same old same old. He thought about at least talking with the other students in his class, however, he couldn't bring himself to be as open like he used to be. "What would I even say? I'd probably say something lame anyways ..." he thought to himself staring at the blue sky above him with a stoic expression plastered on his face. That was when a memory came to mind - one that he wished he'd forgot about. "Not bad Riku! That was a pretty sweet combo you did there," the ringing of his father's voice in his head made Riku's expression turn into a grimace. "Tch! Stupid old man! Why am I thinking of him!?" He said aloud, his words filled with despise for his father. "He should be the furthest thing from my mind," Riku slightly turned his head, looking away at the sky as he was sitting there in the patch of grass. Luckily the sprinklers weren't on, otherwise he'd be given a rather unpleasant shower of cold water. Not only that but he was still in his school uniform. He had one more class for the day, but he still had a couple of more hours to kill before it was time to head back to the academic building.
Riku sighed as he got off his back, beginning to stand up while grabbing his backpack and skateboard. Luckily, he was actually able to fit most of the skateboard in his backpack while he was in classes. What's more is that the teachers never hardly have mentioned saying that he couldn't have it with him during class. It also made it faster for him to get to his classes when he wasn't at the academic building from the start. He casually made his way up towards the academic building, still deep in thought. That was when he had accidentally bumped into someone, instantly making him come back to reality, so to speak. "Oh, sorry 'bout that ..." Riku said awkwardly, bringing hand to the back of his neck, rubbing it slightly. "Way to pay attention, Riku ... At least I was walking and not on my skateboard ... That could've ended badly," Riku thought to himself, he usually wasn't like this and he knew exactly why he was acting this way too ... and was all because of remembering a duel he had with his father before he ditched him, his siblings, and most importantly, his mom. "Some pro-duelist you turned out to be," he thought to himself, as if his dad were there and able to somehow read his mind. However, if he had the gall to abandon them, then to Riku, that would be one of the first things that'd he'd want to say to his old man if they ever saw each other again. He deserved to be brought down to size for what he did.
Doku was also doing a rather normal routine, he didn't have work today, so he was just gonna enjoy himself. He was sitting in the courtyard (secretly) reading manga in his bag. He was thinking about the next upcoming chapter! Was the dear princess going to make it out of the cave in time! Oh it was so suspenseful but he'd have to wait two weeks for his answer! Oh the horror...
Doku zipped his bag, stood up and began heading out. That was until someone walked right into him. "Oh, it's cool." Though, the purple haired boy hadn't seen this guy around before. "You okay?" He said noticing the slight awkward tone. "Uhhh, I'm Doku, don't think I've met you yet."
Now, Riku might have heard about Doku before, if he did it was likely negative and about his womanizing tendencies along with being a class clown. Doku was aware of his negative reputation but he tried his best to just ignore it.

head in the clouds
Riku sighed slightly, not really sure if he should open up to the purple-haired student or not. "It's nothing. Just been deep in thought," The words that came out of Riku's mouth wasn't technically a lie, but the same time, it wasn't the exact truth either. Riku never liked talking about his father, even after he regained his joy for dueling again. Hell, if it weren't for his mom helping with that, chances are he would have never even thought about becoming a student at Liberta, and he didn't want to squander it, thinking about the man who abandoned him and the rest of his family. As Riku stood there awkwardly once again, deep in his thoughts, he snapped out of it once the other boy introduced himself. "Riku. Riku Masamune." He said, giving Doku his name.
Riku had also begun to realize who exactly he had just bumped into. Suffice it to say, Riku had never met Doku, but he had definitely heard of him. 'The womanizer of Liberta Duel Academy' some students would call him. Despite never actually interacting with a lot of students before, he still listened to other students. What's more is that on occasion, some students would whisper about Riku himself as well. The anti-social boy of the Pro-duelist, Touma Masamune. although ... his dad was never around anyway. Not anymore, at least. No one probably knows what had happened to his father ... not that Riku even cared. In a way, Riku was glad that the talk about him died down a bit. However, that was before he and his family moved to Silvershine. Since they were new to the city itself, chances were that there was still talk going around about his father. Since the city was also blasting with all things pertaining to duel monsters, Riku suspected that it was bound to be something the locals would talk about, just like the students here at the academy.
Aside from all that, Riku didn't really care what Doku did in his free time. Besides, it wasn't like he was hurting anyone. "Do you have a class soon?" Riku had asked another question, trying his best to be as social he could be.
Doku would nod a little bit, he did take note of Riku, seemed like he was pretty open about what was going on. For sure something Doku could never do unless it was a friend or his sister. Masamune, Doku would make sure to remember it, the purple haired boy would nod to himself. "Uh, no not for a little bit. I was just reading a little bit..." He explained, skipping out on the name of the book. That... would of been embarrassing. He was into some weird sappy romance! The stories were just so compelling! Hit right in the feels.
"What are you going to do next" Well... this wasn't going to be good. Two anti social guys talking to each other. Doku was hard to be social when he was still inside his little "shell". Which would take a bit for him to be so.
