A clear and starry night spread across the landscape of Silvershine and Liberta Duel Academy, the celestial bodies shinning brighter than usual it seemed and signaling forthcoming of another sunny, warm day. The clock was near midnight and while Liberta's students could still be seen here and there around the campus most of the student body was either already asleep or preparing for slumber and tomorrow's classes in their dorm rooms. The Legold house seemed to be already done for the day, with most of the lights inside being shut off and not a soul in sight around the Legacy Dorm. Except for one...
The wide stairway that led to the main entrance of the Legold house and was a usual 'chillout' spot for many of it's residents during the day now held only one student. There, perched midway up the stairway sat a silver haired boy adorned with a long coat in the colors of his designated dorm and a stern look on his face. A look that was directed towards the starry sky as the slight night's breeze rustled his hair. He seemed to be waiting for something...
Arasen wasn't attending Liberta for a long time but he was already able to gather enough rumors and information about the potentially stand-out duelists amongst the kids, mostly from those from his dorm. The reason for this lay in both his own ambitions as a duelist as one who aims to claim his spot amongst stars should get to know the environment as well as the 'closest obstacles' in terms of competition. The other reason being his defacto mission on behalf of the Celestial Heart society - to gauge and monitor what kind of dueling talent does Liberta (as one of the KC's most prestigious companies) produces, as well as gauge the said duelist's hearts and intentions in order to see just what kind of people and future big shots of this world does the Liberta breeding grounds cultivate.
Allen Akiyama to many was a rather strange sight, what with both his wardrobe choice as well as his hobby of being a part time magician, which led to the flamboyantly dressed boy often practicing and performing magic tricks around the campus. The interesting part about Allen for Arasen was in fact something else... Allen seemed to have an innate dueling talent and equally honed skills and that was what Arasen was interested in and what he actually noticed about the boy, he pretty much didn't care about any of the other antics that made him so eye catching for the other students. Though even those common students that were mainly intrigued or amused by Allen's outside theatrics still viewed him with a dose of respect, honoring the boy's dueling skills and status perhaps even unconsciously - since if the magic and the rather strange outfit was all there was about Akiyama his reputation would have been that of a campus clown or something, and it was far from that...
The clock approached midnight ever closer as Arasen patiently awaited on the stairs of the Legold dorm gazing at the stars above the campus. He knew the boy in question was not inside the Legacy House, meaning it was just a matter of time when he'd make his comeback to the dorm.
Allen was in a casual outfit of a white T-Shirt and a black, short sleeve jacket with red trim, covered with streaks and dots of blue that resembled stars, in addition to his outfits usual pants, belts, and shoes. Sighing, he looked over at his usual outfit, that seemed to have gained the attention of one of his dormmates in a.... weird way. To most people in this school, the unique outfit choice was seen as normal usually. Given the type of school it was, most of the students chalked it up to it being a work-in-progress outfit for the pro dueling circuit, given it was more so a persona/reputation based industry, like pro wrestling. While skill was definitely important, it was also just as important to have a marketable appearance and dueling persona. This went double for Allen, as the outfit also built himself a reputation and got him a bit of a following in the magic scene, which would let him get some side gigs performing tricks in his spare time later on when he'd be in need of money.
However, this outfit.... Seemed to have gained some negative attention from another person in his dorm. Allen had seen him around before. Dude was fairly lanky, and his hair stood out more than even his fiery red hair. Allen was sure the guy bleaches it to get it that silver. Allen hadn't ever really interacted with him before, but.... Out of the blue earlier today, the guy came up to him and challenged him to a duel at midnight. Given how dramatically the challenge was given, Allen figured that he was better off accepting it as he was sure the guy would get more dramatic in challenging him if he backed down from the first one. Sighing, Allen got up and went to leave the dorm.
11:40 PM, Nighttime, Legold Dormitory.
Allen came back into his dorm room, sat down on his bed, and put his face in his palms. 'HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GO TO THE DUEL YOU SO DRAMATICALLY CHALLENGED ME TO IF YOU'RE GOING TO CAMP THE STEPS AND MAKE IT AWKWARD FOR ME TO LEAVE?!' He couldn't help but yell in his mind out of frustration. "It's far too awkward to leave out the front door, given the guy was speaking out loud about how he was sure I wasn't here!" He said outloud to himself, grumbling about the person who challenged him. Sighing in defeat, Allen decided he had to make a drastic move to get to the duel without embarrassing the guy, as he was sure it'd just end up making the situation far too awkward for someone who seemed that... socially awkward.
'Alright, the dorm security shouldn't make another pass through until about 10 after~quarter after midnight... Gonna have to make it a quick duel and book it if I wanna slip past them.' He thought, grabbing a prop mask he bought from one of the magic stores he went to the other day. The front of it just had some painted lines on it, along with two black spots that resembled eyes. However, it was like a trick mirror. The side that went onto his face was completely see through, giving him clear view without obstruction. Leaving his dorm room, he went down to the first floor and opened a window. While it was the first floor, it was still a decent 6 foot drop down to the ground due to the foundation of the dorm. 'Good thing I played aragami.' He thought, putting on his mask and putting up his hood up, before hopping out the window and landing on the ground. '....... Not as cool.' He thought, before quietly slinking away.
11:58 PM, Nighttime, outside the Legold dormitory.
Having been waiting in the bushes for around the past 10 to 15 minutes, Allen saw that it was finally time for the meet up. Stepping out of the bushes, he turned down the path and approached the steps to his own dorm. "So, I'm here for our midnight duel." He said, calling out to Arasen who was still sitting on the steps. He was still wearing the mask and had his hood up, but his red hair was visible, so it should be obvious to Arasen who it was approaching him. He held his left arm slightly out to his side, ready to activate his cellphone model duel disk to start the duel.

The silver haired boy's gaze turned from the starry sky down towards the rustling bushes as a figure came out of it. A figure he at the first glance did not recognize with it's features obscured by a hood and an odd mask. Though many would perhaps give a startled or a somewhat jumpy reaction to a masked figure emerging from the darkness mere minutes till midnight, Arasen seemed to retain his lax calmness as he noticed the figure emerge, no doubt a result of both his physical and mental training and preparations from years at the Celestial Heart foundation. In essence it took much more to get through Ishikawa's stoic exterior.
On a closer inspection it was clear who the figure in question was, both his extravagant choice of clothing and the distinct spikes of his red hair peeking out of the hood. Though if this wasn't enough for recognition, Allen's straight to the point greeting would definitely cast away all the shadows of doubt about the masked figure's identity.
''So you arrive on time... Allen Akiyama.'' - Arasen spoke out with a slight, polite smile as he rose on the central stairs of the Legold house. ''I apologize for the odd invitation and timing.'' the silver haired duelist continued as he made his way slowly down the stairs -''The truth is I had matters to attend to all day and I figured that a setting without a needless crowd would work best for both of us.'' He explained as his feet finally touched the grassy ground that lay at the bottom of the stairs.
Though Arasen was curious about Allen's lack of questions about why he chose him, why he chose such an odd timing etc, he was at the same time glad he wouldn't have to think of a vague surface level excuse and waste his time with needless words since the nature of his mission and the place he came from obviously needed to remain a secret. Though he didn't know Akiyama at all he could tell the boy took his future seriously, a future that by all accounts probably laid in dueling. The extravagant clothing, the eye catching looks and the distinct hairstyle, all melded together and rounded up by obvious skill and dedication... To a keen eye it was all a clear sign of young Allen Akiyama already starting to work on his pro circuit image and approaching the issue better than most his age and even older. An often flaw in many younger duelists that aim for a professional career was focusing way to much on one of the sides while the other obviously lacked and suffered. Some poured all their efforts and energy into creating and maintaining their persona, having their dueling skills slowly degrade and get rusty with time while others focused so much on the dueling aspect they ended up being bland and boring to a watcher's eye - a career suicide in this business and something most of the managers simply avoid as it's bad for business.
-''Very well then...'' his duel disk sprung to life as he extended his glowed hand to the side -''I appreciate your straightforwardness.''

11:59 PM, Nighttime, Outside the Legold Dormitory.
Allen was visibly cringing as Arasen referred to him by his full name. Or, you know, would be if not for the full face mask hiding his expression. 'Dear god, why my full name? That's so cringey, man!' He complained in his head at it. Hearing the apology, Allen was confused. "... Why would a duel without onlookers.... You know what, not important." Allen said, before cutting off that thought and shrugging off the thought. Hearing the rest of what he said, Allen just called out duel at the same time as his opponent.
... 12:00 AM, Nighttime, Outside the Legold Dormitory.
After no indication of who was making the first move from the challenger, Allen internally sighed. "... Alright, I'll go first then, I guess." Allen said, looking at the holographic cards in his left hand. 'Alright..... I have no idea what his deck is, so lets play defensively, if possible.' He thought, before grabbing one of the cards and holding it up, snapping his fingers making the card dissolve, and a book appear and fall into his right hand. As if possessed, the book opened and the pages fluttered as if being blown by the wind, before a card flew out of it. Catching it, Allen explained what he did. "First, I'll activate Spellbook of secrets, adding to my hand Spellbook Magician of Prophecy." As he finished speaking, the book dissolved into little particles of light that floated up. At the same time as the book finished dissolving in his hand, he grabbed another holographic card from his left hand and threw it forward.
"Next, I summon Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, and use his effect to add Spellbook of knowledge to my hand." He said as the magician appeared on the field. It wasn't the normal Spellbook Magician monster, but rather a different monster in the art. This Magician looked to be around 20, and had pitch black, longish looking hair and wore robes of dark navy with blue and red accents to it. Holding up a book, he smiled and tossed it backwards, to Allen. Catching it, Allen then held it up, and it once more flew open with the pages fluttering rapidly in the wind. This time, two cards came out of it that Allen caught. "And I'll activate Spellbook of Knowledge, tributing Magician of Prophecy, to draw two cards." As he finished saying this, the book and Magician of Prophecy dissolved into light, just like Spellbook of secrets did.
'.... Hmm.... I didn't need another Spellbook of secrets... Well, there's the discard fodder.' Allen thought, before tossing one of the cards in his left hand forward. "Next, I discard Spellbook of Secrets to special summon Apprentice Illusion Magician, and I activate her effect. When she's special summoned, I can add to my hand a copy of dark magician." He said as his spellcaster appeared on the field. With a healthy looking tan, Egyptian facial markings, cute face, and silver hair that looks more natural than Arasen's, the bubbly magician held up her wand with a smile as the gem on the top of it glowed, sending a ball of light up into the air that made a beeline for Allen's right hand. Grabbing two more cards from his hand, Allen tossed them up into the air. The first one disappeared, and a black portal opened in its place. The second one went into the portal, which then quivered. With a roar, two clawed paws ripped through said portal, pulling out the rest of its body. A green, regal dragon pulled itself out of the portal, landing on the ground.
"I discard Magicians' Navigation to special summon Timaeus, the united dragon. Using his effect, I fuse him and my dark magician from hand." Allen said, before taking the dark magician card from his hand and throwing it towards Timaeus. "Noble Magician and Regal Dragon, forge an unbreakable bond and make our enemies quake with fear. I fusion summon, Dark Magician the Dragon Knight!" Allen called out, as the card turned into Dark magician, whom upon landing on Timaeus's back, waved his wand as he was enveloped in light. Gone were his black robes and staff, and now was equipped with a regal set of armor, along with a magic sword and a tower shield worthy of a dragon riding knight.
Grabbing another card, Allen pushed it forward as he held out his right hand, letting it dissolve and turn into a spell circle in front of his hand. "Next, I activate Secrets of dark magic, fusing my Apprentice Illusion Magician, and Dark Magician the Dragon Knight together." Allen said, as the spell circle flew forward and expanded, with Dark Magician jumping off Timaeus's back through it, along with apprentice Illusion magician. Timaeus sunk into a black portal below him as Dark Magician dismounted. As Dark Magician passed through the spell circle, his armor once more changed into his purple robes, which were now slightly more elaborate than his previous set. As Apprentice Illusion Magician passed through the spell circle, her tan lightened, turning her skin to a healthy pink, as well as her hair turning from the silverish color it was, to a more natural blonde. Her outfit turned from its purple palette to black with white accents, and a pink, semi-see-through shoulder cloak came off the top part of her outfit.
"Grand magicians of old, appear and fight together! I fusion summon, The Dark Magicians!" Allen said, as Dark Magician and Dark Magician girl appeared together, crossing their staves together. Next, he took the last card in his right hand and held it up, snapping his fingers, breaking the card into fragments of light. "I activate Soul Servant, and put Magician's Salvation on the top of my deck." As he said that, The Dark Magician's staves lit up, forming a ball of light that flew back into Allen's left hand. "When I activate a spell, The Dark Magician's allow me to draw one card once per turn. Now, I'll activate the card I just drew!" Allen said, holding his arm and palm straight up into the air as the card turned into a spell circle that flew up and rapidly grew bigger, before coming down and placing itself onto the ground, encompassing the entire play field, going from a bit behind Allen to a bit behind Arasen.
"I activate Magician's Salvation. When it's activated, I can set an Eternal Soul to my field." Allen said, as he swung his left arm towards a zone on the field, which then had a facedown card appear in that spot. 'Well, that's everything I can do unless this draw is good.' Allen thought, satisfied with his current board but wanted to see if he could push it forward. raising his left wrist up to show his disks face to Arasen, he swiped his right index and middle finger across it. "I banish Soul servant to activate its effect. I draw one card due to having only Dark Magician in my grave." He said, as the card appeared in between the two fingers he slid across the disk.
"... Oh, that's nice. I activate the effect of the card I just drew, Illusion of Chaos, to add to hand Magician's Souls, putting itself back onto the top of the deck." Allen said, holding up the cards blue, ritual monster face forward for Arasen to see, before thumping it with his hand and making it spin, turning into the new card in an instant. Tossing the card forward, a black portal opens on the ground once more. "I activate its effect, sending a copy of dark magician girl to the grave, I can summon a dark magician or dark magician girl from the grave. I choose Dark Magician the Dragon knight, as while on the field or in the grave, his name is treated as Dark Magician." He said, as the dragon and knight once more rose from the portal standing proudly. As they did, the spell circle lit up, as another monster emerged from the black portal. "Next, Salvations effect activates. When I summon dark magician or Dark magician girl, I can target them and revive the other from the grave." He said, as the magician girl appeared, in her normal blue attire, holding her staff at the ready.
"And with that, I end my turn." Allen said, glancing down at his wrist, or more specifically, the clock on his disk. '12:05 am. 10 minutes at most till the night patrol gets here. This duel might end without result....' He thought, grimacing at how Arasen is likely to badger him for a proper rematch in that scenario. 'Definitely not looking forward to that. Though this is a good board.' He groaned internally, though he was content with this field. So long as it wasn't a lot of board wipes, he was certain his board would survive enough to make plays on his next turn.

The silver haired teen stood stoically as Allen's side of the field one by one filled up with various spellcaster monsters, the light of the various portals they conjured with their magic as part of the monsters summon animation reflected off of Arasen's hair and eyes. He followed through every move his opponent made but kept his usual poker face. Even at the end of the turn when he was stared down by Allen's impressive and down right scary board the taller teen didn't show a crack in his cold exterior.
''My turn...'' - He said decisively as his left hand slowly neared his duel disk for his draw phase.
''Draw!'' Arasen's hand swiped swiftly, cutting through the air around him as he took to his turn. ''I activate Drytron Al-Zeta's effect from my hand.'' He held up the card facing Allen as he called for it's effect. ''By tributing Drytron Delta Altais from my hand I can special summon this monster to the field in defense mode.'' he explained as he promptly discarded the aformentioned Altais to the graveyard. With a beam of vibrant light a mechanical monster resembling a dragon holding a shield of some sort materialized in front of Arasen. ''When Al-Zeta's summoned this way I can add one Ritual Spell from my deck to my hand.'' Following through with the effect his duel disk ejected a card from his deck which the boy grabbed with two of his fingers, revealing it as he added it to his hand -''I add Meteonis Drytron to my hand.''
Without much pause Arasen proceeded immediately with his next move -''I activate Altais's effect in the graveyard.'' his duel disk's graveyard portion shone with a vibrant blue light -''By tributing a Drytron monster from my hand I can summon him to my field aswell.'' And so with a echoing screech a lengthy mechanical dragon appeared next to the first one on Arasen's field. Interestingly enough in contrast to Allen's overall awe inspiring style of summons and monsters animations, Arasen's was pretty standard and so far no where near as interesting to watch as his opponent's.
''Altais's effect! By revealing Meteonis Drytron in my hand I get to draw a card.'' He once again swiped over his duel disk, yanking a card out -''And now.. I activate the ritual spell Meteonis Drytron!'' The card materialized in front of Arasen but before it's effect could go off his opponent had a move of his own... -"I activate Eternal soul in response to your spell.... then I activate Navigation in my graveyard as Chain link 3, negating your spell." - Allen declared as the materialized card of Meteonis Drytron started to fade and lose it's color as if it had the life drained out of it before cracking into pieces. Further more at Eternal Soul's activation The Dark Magicians allowed Allen to draw into another card.
Still the silver haired boy's stoic expression remained still as ever, even as his plan was being seemingly foiled. ''...From my graveyard I activate... Meteonis Drytron! By having one of my Drytron monsters lose 1000 attack points I get to add Meteonis back to my hand.'' Drytron Al-Zeta's roared as a red glow of downpuring energy eminatted from it and it's attack points dropped to a 1000 and the coveted Ritual spell returned back to Arasen's hand. 'I tribute Drytron Al-Zeta from my field...'' the reduced Al-Zeta was enveloped in a bluish celestial glow as it disappeared from the field and in it's place a new, third mechanical dragon appeared '''...to summon Drytron Ras-Beta from my hand!''
A crooked line of dots resembling the Draconis constellation scorched over the floor of the field, the usual flame of the ritual summon animation following it's trajectory as Arasen once again activated Meteonis Drytron, this time successfully. Both Ras-Beta and Altais morphed into swirling beams of light as they were set as tributes of the ritual summon, the iconic ritual circle now appearing around the field around them. What made it different from the usual ritual circle animation was that it was glowing with multiple celestial lights marking the distinction of this specific ritual summon. -''Meteonis Drytron allows me to tribute monsters whose attack equals or exceeds the chosen ritual monster's attack... furthermore it can summon the said monster from my graveyard.'' If his opponent had a keen eye as Arasen assumed he would most likely now remember Arasen discarding a ritual monster previously to summon Altais.
''Born from the stars... the celestial dragon descends...''
''I summon Drytron Meteonis Draconids!''
For what he lacked in awe and theatrics in his summons so far Arasen definitely made up with the summon of his ritual monster, the mechanical dragon towering over the field above it's user and shinning with a translucent light that fell upon Allen's dark spellcasters. The silver haired boy moves immediately to his battle phase as his dragon roars hovering above him -''Battle! Drytron Meteonis Draconids attack The Dark Magicians!'' The machine floated a few meters higher before swiftly descending upon Allen's field ''Draconis Descent!'' and in a blaze of light destroyed the masked boy's monster. Allen didn't seem to lose a beat, instantly activating the destroyed monster's effect ''The Dark Magician's ability! When they're destroyed, they summon Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.'' The destroyed combo monster effectively summoned two of it's pieces back to the field ''Now Salvations effect, I summon another Dark Magician by targeting Dark Magician girl!" Once again Allen's field was filled with all sorts of dark spellcasters but his opponent didn't seem to be fazed by this resolution... ''Draconids... attacks again!'' the innate ability of the celestial dragon machine allowing him to attack all special summoned monsters once, and Allen's current board was a perfect target.
''Draconis Meteor Strike!''
Arasen called out his attack as his dragon ascended and with a roar poured down a shower of meteors that seemed to be made out of pure energy. With a giant explosion of light and sound Allen's field that was brimming with monsters just a second ago was now completely empty.

As his opponents turn crept on, Allen was honestly impressed by the dragon that was summoned. Normally, from Allen's experiences, negating a ritual spell stopped a turn. 'Guess ritual decks have advanced passed the neg'd and pass routine.' He thought, looking up at the space mecha dragon. '...... He really isn't one for theatrics, apparently. Is he aiming for a stoic cool guy character?' He wondered, as he activated his effects and filled his board. 'Alright, with this I should be able to smack that dragon do-' He thought, getting cut off as his opponent once more declared an attack. 'WAIT WHAT?!' He yelled in his head, as he quickly raised up his left wrist and flicked his finger across the holoscreen pop-up from the duel disk. '...... A once per turn pop up to 2 on my turn, and attacking all special summoned monsters I control? That's bad.' He grimaced as he braced for impact, his unzipped jacket blowing in the breeze caused by his entire monster line-up getting wiped out and his life-points getting drastically dropped, leaving him with only 800. Looking down at the clock, Allen saw what time it was. 12:08 am.
"...... Alright, that was my own fault. I deserved to get punished for summoning those all in attack position and not reading." Allen said as his opponent went to end his turn. "During the end phase, I activate the effect of Eternal Soul, reviving Dark Magician the Dragon Knight. Your duty is not done yet, noble dragon knight!" Allen said, dramatically raising his arm up with his palm facing upward, as the black portal once more opened with the dragon and knight flying out of it, mounted up and hovering on the field, ready for battle. "With that, your turn ends, and mine begins. Draw!" He called out, swiping his fingers across his duel disk in a drawing motion, as if drawing from a physical disk. Finally, Allen checked the card he had drawn off of The Dark Magician's the previous turn.
'Alright, I have Spellbook of knowledge, and Eternal soul in hand now... Time to see if I can draw into a way to get around this 4,000 attack behemoth.' He thought, looking back up at the dragon. "First, I activate Eternal Soul, reviving a Dark Magician from my gr-" Allen started to say, holding his right hand out to the zone where Eternal soul was at, before being cut off by Arasen silently raising his hand as his dragon fired off a beam towards Dark Magician the Dragon Knight. Seeing this, Allen casually pushed his right hand lightly forward, while at the same time, Dark Magician the Dragon Knight raised his shield with a scoff, causing a spell circle engraved on the front of it to light up, making the same circle appear in front of himself and Timaeus, which easily absorbed the blast from Meteon. "..... I'm guessing you hadn't read Eternal Soul. It makes all of my dark magicians on the field unaffected by my opponents card effects, while Dark Magician the Dragon Knight prevents you from targetting, as well as destroying, my spells and traps." He explained as the spell circle faded, returning to being a design on Dark Magician the Dragon Knight's shield.
"As I was saying, Eternal Soul revives Dark Magician from the grave, and then Magician's Salvation revives Dark Magician Girl!" Allen said, as two black portals once more opened, with Dark Magician and Dark Magician girl both rising out of a portal each. Taking the spell from his hand, Allen held it up and snapped his fingers, making a book appear in his right hand that immediately opened and fluttered in the wind, just like last turn. "I activate Spellbook of knowledge, tributing my Dark Magician to draw two cards." Allen said, as the book sent out 2 small balls of light that went to his left hand, forming cards. Immediately, Dark Magician and the spell book dissolved into light as Allen checked his draws. 'Illusion magic? That's a terrible draw. Monster Reborn, on the other hand....' Allen thought, before holding up said card to an empty zone, stepping over to the side as he did so. "I activate monster reborn, reviving Magician's Souls." He said, as the spell circle appeared in front of his hand as the card dissolved, while the ghostly silhouettes of Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl appeared, coming out of the circle. Binding them together was a ring of runes. "And I activate its effect, discarding the trap and the spell in my hand to draw two more cards." He said, tossing the cards to the ghostly magicians, who grabbed them and threw him back two different cards.
'Dark Magical Circle? Now that's a boon.' He thought, before quickly hopping to the side, stepping in the other direction from which he had before, going to the empty zone on the other side of Eternal Soul. "I activate Dark Magical Circle! When I activate this spell, I can check the top three cards of my deck and add one 'Dark Magician', or one spell or trap that mentions 'dark magician' by name in its text to my hand from among them." He said, holding up his hand as the new spell circle appeared. Inside it, three cards appeared, with the backs pointing towards Arasen. Seeing his options, Allen immediately grabbed one spell from among the cards, with the other two fading out of existence at the same time. "I add 'Bonds between teacher and student' to my hand. The other two are placed back on the top of the deck." He said, before raising the card he just added and snapping his fingers, shattering the card and activating it. "Now, I activate Bonds between Teacher and Student. Since I control a Dark Magician, I can summon Dark Magician Girl from my deck or grave, and then set one of four spells to my field. I set 'Dark Magic Twin Burst' to my field." He explained, as once more another black portal opened, with another Dark Magician girl appearing. This one was slightly different from the other dark magician girl on his field. Her skin was slightly tanned, her outfit was red, and her hair was slightly more silver.
After the second Magician girl appeared, both magician girls crossed their staves together, as Allen raised his hand. "I activate Dark Magic Twin Burst! Dark Magician the Dragon Knight gains attack equal to the total attack of all Dark Magician Girls in the grave and on the field, raising his attack to 8200!" He explained, before a black vortex appeared underneath the two magician girls. "I overlay my two dark magician girls to Xyz summon!" He called out. Nodding to the original, the red variant Magician girl turned ethereal and overlapped with the other. At the same time, her outfit changed. Dying itself black and silver, and forming a choker on her neck, the spellcaster stood as an Ankh tattoo appeared on her collarbone, with two orbs of light spinning around her. "Apprentice of the grand magician, reveal your true might and show how much you've grown! I Xyz Summon, Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal!!" He called out, to which the magician smiled and gave a wave, first turning to wave to Allen, before waving to Arasen.
Allen was glad that he was wearing the mask, as he blushed a bit when she waved to him. That monster always moved more lifelike than the others he had. The artwork was a special edition, rather than the normal artwork. While she looked the same, the art was indeed slightly different. However, Allen assumed that this meant it was programmed to act slightly differently from the normal card. "Now, Magi, summon your teacher!" Allen said, as she gave a disappointed look to Allen, before doing as commanded, raising her hand up as portal rose in front of her. Sending her two orbiting balls of light through the portal, her master, Ebon Illusion Magician, came through it on the other side. Jumping through the portal, a 3rd ball of light came through it, joining the other two in orbiting around the Wizard. "Teacher beyond the greatest magic, show us the power of a legend. Rank-up Xyz Change, Ebon Illusion Magician!!" He called out, as the magician in black armored robes, with tanned skin, raised his staff. One of the orbs of light went into the stave's gem.
"I activate Ebon Illusion Magician's effect! By using one overlay material, I can special summon a level 7 Normal Spellcaster from my hand or deck, so I special summon Dark Magician!" He called out, as the stave pointed to one of the empty zones, bringing out a glowing black portal. Arising out of it, Dark Magician once more showed itself. Holding out his right hand to his spell zone, the spell circle appeared and lit up, with another, identical circle appeared underneath Meteon. "Dark Magical Circle's effect activates. Once per turn, when I summon a Dark Magician, I can target and banish one card on the field. Therefore, I banish Meteon!" He called out, as a pillar of light erupted from the circle beneth Meteon, enveloping it. The light quickly died down, with the dragon having disappeared with it.
"And now its time for the finish! Dark Magician the Dragon Knight, attack him directly!!" He called out, swinging his hand down and pointing at Arasen. The dragon let out a roar, taking off into the air. Taking a deep breath, the dragon readied its breath attack, while at the same time the Magical Knight on his back pointed his sword forward, down at Arasen, with the tip of the blade glowing. Letting out a battle cry, both the knight and the dragon unleashed their attacks, which merged together and turned into a giant beam that crashed down on Arasen, dropping his LP from 8000 to 0. "And with that, I win. Good game." Allen said, giving him a showmans bow as he held his left arm off to the side, bowing with his right arm bent in front of him. As he bowed, Allen glanced at his disk's clock. 12:13 am, almost 12:14 am. The security's patrol would be through any moment now. 'Definitely gonna need to run soon.' He thought, internally sighing. At least he won.

The stoic exterior on the tall boy remained throughout his opponent's turn, the lights of the various magical circles of Allen's monsters reflecting on his pale face yet again. He only flinched, though microscopically when he noticed the colossal boost in Dark Magician the Dragon Knight. With over 8000 attack points the dragon commanding spellcaster towered over Arasen's Meteonis Draconids, a monster with one of the highest natural attack values in the game, yet Allen's magician now wielded double that power. The next crack in his exterior came when another one of Allen's magical circles effect kicked in, wrapping its circular insignia around the terrifying machine and making Draconids disappear from the field. It's mechanical roar fading in sound as his visage did the same.
''Huh...''
The realization hit the pale boy as soon as his dragon had left him and his field was empty. Wasting no time Allen moved to his battle phase, his dragon riding magician moving alongside him, as if the two were in sync as the monster took flight and descended straight towards Arasen and his life points. An arm simply shielded the tall teen's eyes as his life points dropped to 0. As the monsters faded with the end of the swift duel the arm shielding Arasen's eyes dramatically still remained there, obscuring the boy's expression and feelings about the outcome. But behind the raised arm creeped a sly but soft smile. Lowering his arm Arasen's expression seemed to lighten up a tiny tad bit., his face still holding the usual serious air of intensity but somehow a bit scaled back for some reason right now.
''Indeed... good game.'' He said smiling with his eyes (as much as one can). ''Seems I was right about you..'' the white haired boy said vaguely, not unlike most of his speech in their interaction so far. However, before the conversation would continue Arasen's attention would be turned to something to the side. More specifically the clear sound of footsteps approaching and a battery light flash. The flashy duel and the lightshow Allen and Arasen's monster naturally created acted like a homing beacon for the patroling Liberta security that made sure the curfew was being respected. Arasen was obviously unaware of this rule, or had he simply forgot about it or even didn't care - in any case he was definitely not expecting the men to show up. For a moment he glanced back where Allen once stood.... key word being 'once'.... Now, there was no sign of the flamboyant boy, as if he had disappeared into thin air...

Allen had a confused look on his face behind the mask he was wearing. "What do you me-" Allen went to ask what he meant by 'you're just like I thought', but off to the side, he heard the chummy talkings of the usual night patrol guards. Vaguely, he could make out that they were talking about sports, discussing what pro athletes were likely to get their portraits turned into U.A. alt arts. Allen knew these guards. They sometimes rotated with the day crew to guard the gate, and had stopped him one time after he went shopping for the dorm mother and harassed him to no end about leaving campus during school hours. It took the unbridled fury of the dorm mother deprived of her caffeine to get them to relent and leave him alone.
For that reason, it's easy to understand why he had a flight response to the situation. Allen didn't bother to warn Arasen, as he turned on his heel and sprinted off, turning the corner around the building and sprinting along the side wall. Within a minute, Allen got to the open window, which thankfully was next to a L wall, so there was a wall next to it. Jumping, Allen stamped his foot on the wall and got just enough leverage to got half his body past the window still, climbing in it. Quietly, he took off his shoes with as much haste as possible, closed the window, and ran as fast and as quietly down the hall as he could. Getting to his room, he opened it and quickly shut the door behind him, before slumping down the door and sitting on the ground against it, safely in his room.
Panting heavily, as he tried to get vital, life giving oxygen into his body, Allen reached up and took off the mask. 'I feel bad for him but.... not that bad. I'll buy him a cheap lunch set next time I see him.' He thought, thankful that A, the guards would have only caught the lights from the duel, as the holograms themselves tended to get blurrier and blurrier the farther from the duel you were, unless supported by arena tech. But also that B, He was wearing a mask, and C, he got out of there fast enough to not be seen. 'I imagine they're gonna escort him back into the building to his room to make sure he turns in for the night.... I better change.' He thought, standing up and stripping to his underwear. Tossing his dirty laundry on the top, unused bunk, as he was lucky enough to have a double to himself, Allen grabbed a pair of pajama's from his dresser and changed into it. With a Yawn, he stuck the mask into his bag and crawled into bed. Hoping that the visit he was expecting from security for if Arasen dimed him out would not come.
Quickly drifting off to sleep, Allen had a nice dream of being an adventurer, travelling around as a support mage, alongside his teacher, his teacher's dragon familiar, and his fellow disciple, whom was like an older sister to him. They spent their days travelling from town to town doing quests for the adventurers guild and making a living with a carefree life. Near the end of the dream, they encountered weird mechanical dragons that seemed to run on starlight. After a quick but intense battle, which almost wiped them all out, Allen was able to use his support magic to boost his allies and halt the dragon in its tracks, letting his teacher and his dragon partner perform the finishing blow. Following that, they took the remains back to town and partied the night away, enjoying their hard fought victory. Around the climax of the party, Allen's dream came to an end, as his alarm went off.
Waking up that morning, Allen sighed. He tended to recall those adventurer dreams fairly well, but they always seemed to depress him. As, at the beginning of that dream, every time, he always was bidding farewell to his parents to leave, and every time, he saw his mother alongside with a man whom he never met, and couldn't recall the face of. "..... I really must have some attachment to him, if he keeps showing up there every time, even though I've never met him..." He thought out loud in a low voice, knowing quite well that that man was his father. Sighing once more, he shrugged off the feeling and got ready for class, just like usual.
