Autumn, the season when the leaves start to change colors, the air gets colder and crisper, and the birds start to migrate. On this specific day, The sun was shining out brightly with a nice amount of clouds drifting lazily along in the sky. It was one of the days off from classes, so Aran was using this time to get some fresh air and really hit the books......... Ok, that's a complete lie. Aran wouldn't be out of his room right now if not for the fact he was airing it out from all the gem dust thats accumulated from his hobby. So, he sat at a table, facing away from it with his bag tossed haphazardly on it, reading a novel while leaning back against the table. It was one of the rare few novels he owned a physical copy of that wasn't written by his grandmother. In this novel, a great battle in the stars took place, breaking the stars and sending their cores falling to a nearby planet, giving rise to a new species of people from these cores.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something.... weird. Putting down his book, he paid closer attention. It was a guy whom he could only assume was a student there due to his height.... Wearing armor? It looked futuristic, with a long blond ponytail coming off the back of the helmet that poofed out. Utterly confused, Aran watched him for a few moments before it finally registered. "Oh, it's cosplay... But why out in public on a random day like this?" He spoke out loud, talking to himself purely due to how confused he was. He watched as the megaman cosplayer approached someone. Seeing them equally confused, they ended up agreeing to a duel, and started immediately.
Thinking the duel would be interesting, Aran stuck his bookmark into his book, and stuck it back into his bag, watching as the game progressed.... As his face gradually turned to shock at how... badly that game went. At the end, Aran was absolutely baffled with how it ended, which apparently the guy's opponent was too, as he walked away with almost as much of a confused face as Aran had. Standing up, Aran grabbed his bag and approached the guy in cosplay, partly out of curiosity of the armor, given he stuck out like a storm trooper at a startrek convention, but also out of curiosity of what he was doing now. He saw him take out a notebook and a pen, but he wasn't writing anything. Moreover, he could see the guy's mouth moving. 'Is... Is he talking to himself?' Aran thought, getting closer to listen in.

"Let's see... how would I make his dragons the heroes of the tale..." he muttered to himself. "Or do I make it a tragedy of how a kingdom fell?"
He pondered and pondered, before finally sketching a burning kingdom in his notebook. A rough sketch, which he refines repeatedly. Then dragons breathing the fire into it. And then a big one, a dragon that could be described at a glance as a tyrant. "Yes, this'll have to do. At least for now." He thought for a moment more, then wrote at the top of the page 'Mass Confusion of Flames Unhindered'.
"But alas, a story is barely a story at all if not told... I need an audience. Who would I tell this tale to?"
He sketches a bit more of the scene, namely the burning knights and sorcerers on the castle's perimeter, then gets up.

Figuring that the person would have no awareness of stares he got due to his cosplay suit likely always attracting the stares of everyone around him, Aran decided to go around to behind the person nonchalantly, before quietly walking up on him. Thankfully, the sun was in the right direction to not cast his shadow on the person, as well as that the leaves hadn't all fell, so his steps were fairly quiet. As he got closer, he listened in on the person and peered over his shoulder.
Aran was... Fairly surprised. The person was drawing a scene from the previous duel that made it seem much more climatic than the duel actually was.... Not to mention that it was portraying his monsters as outclassed troops struggling to defend their home from being burned to ash by rampaging dragons. 'But like.... They weren't even villains. with his field spell it was more like the knights ran up on their nest...' Aran thought with his hand on his chin, with his other hand holding that arms elbow, confused on why the scene was getting spun this way thanks to the commentary the guy was giving out loud. Unable to keep his thoughts to himself, Aran decided to speak up and get the person's attention.... Thankfully, that was all he would do for the most part. It took every fiber of his being to resist grabbing the mop dangling off the back of that helmet and tug on it to get the guys attention.
"You know, if you're going to spin it as the knights losing their home and loved ones, then you really should include the part where they picked the fight by attempting to invade the dragon's nest." Aran said, tapping on the guy's shoulder and speaking up, giving commentary on the artwork. "I know you're trying to portray your story as sympathetic for the kingdom, but they really did bring it on themselves by kicking the hornets, or in this case dragon's, nest." He said, critiquing the bits he heard the person say and the art vs the duel he saw.

He turned to Aran, who was behind him. "Hm?" He thought for a moment, then tore the page from the notebook. "Right. Perhaps I should portray them dying there, at the nest, with no honor as they attacked the dragon's home without warning... Yes, that makes more sense..."
He started sketching, but still asked Aran, seeing as they hadn't met before: "So what's your name? If you don't mind me asking, of course."
He looked up again to look at Aran, whom now had his attention for sure. He didn't seem hostile about the change of narrative, more curious about whom he may be talking to.

Seeing how easily his advice was taken, Aran was taken aback. 'Wait wait wait, I just trashed your entire story setting, and you're just going "Yeah, that sounds about right"?! Where's your pride?!' He couldn't help but yell in his head. He was thinking of several scenarios for how to retort to the criticism, but he wasn't accounting for this weirdo to just agree immediately without batting an eye. Not to mention, that was also still doing the duel this guy and the one that walked away had dirty, as there were many more ways to portray it. 'A story of human hubris of a greedy king sending his loyal knights to kidnap a dragon, a story of necessity to rapidly gain military power to overcome an invading kingdom, or even just a story of a constant cycle of revenge! All of these are possible, and you just go for "Yeah, them dying at the nest for being greedy sounds good."?! Really?!' He ranted more in his mind, before the it registered that the guy had asked for his name.
Resisting the urge to snark, he introduced himself.... And failed to keep in the snark. "I'm Aran. Aran Tatsura.... Though, pretty rude to ask for someone's name without introducing yourself." He said, though seeing as how the guy was wearing cosplay in the middle of the day on a weekend just challenging people to duels and losing in a way that... Honestly looks staged, Aran came to the conclusion that this person is probably some kind of colossal idiot. He felt a bit guilty about snarking but.... He really didn't think it was important enough to mind his attitude.

"My name's Hashi," he began, "Hashi Erikson. Sorry if I upset you by asking your name before stating my own, but I've met people who are offended when I introduce myself first as well."
He was quite serious. There had been times when people would attempt to correct him, insisting that it was only good manners.
"Come to think of it, though... Why'd you correct me on my story?" He didn't have as much of an attacking or interrogating tone, as much as he did a simply curious and possibly naïve tone. "You obviously caught some of the duel, but there must be some reason."
He seemed either dumb, or just to want an accurate answer.
"I hope he's not mad," He thought to himself silently. He hoped that he'd not make an enemy today, especially on-campus. He'd had his share of enemies from before his writing: Bullies and other people who didn't like him were what might be considered his enemies, and before his stories, he had far too many for his liking. If there was anything he feared, it was having people who hated him here at Liberta.
