Action; adventure; slice of life; it's up to you! How will you have yours unfold?
He finished it, three times to be exact. With a warm smile, he nodded. "Yeah. I actually own a collector's item, I have the first volume signed by the manga, she's notoriously pretty hard to actually meet." He explained. "I was like... the only guy there..." Oh how tragic, the womanizer meeting a young female mangaka... how terrible for him. "I own the complete manga set as well" Now that Rina knew he was a massive nerd, she was getting to see the true him.
Doku spotted the smirk and a blush. He quickly nodded his head. "I've heard that one~ Might as well shoot my shot you know~" he chuckled. True, it really was a dumb statement but, Doku used it a lot himself. Social Link huh? That one got a quick chuckle from Doku. "Social Link huh? Well, there aren't guides for those in real life" He playfully rolled his eyes. "Rank 10 here I come." He said confidently, looking at Rina's manga for a second.
He was suddenly taken by surprise, her fist caused him to lean back, falling onto his butt. "Oof." He said sighing before standing up taking note of her thumb. He certainly was jumpy. His face also got a slight red hue, she had gotten a bit loud so a few other customers looked towards them. "You're right about that." He tapped his chin. Rina wanted money. Doku would speak rather quickly. "I could get you a job at my work." He suggested. "I work at this little cafe in down!" His cheeks got red. "Well... the manager was my former babysitter- so she helps me get a job. I may be able to put a good word in for you! It's pretty slow most days so it's not difficult" He folded his arms.
"Would you... wanna come over and play with me?" Wanting to test his luck some more. "I can show you my collection and maybe we could grab some lunch?" He got slightly red again. "It would be a fun day." he laughed softly.

Hearing Doku's story on how he got a collector' item was cool to listen to. Rina had never even tried to do something like that, so learning that someone she knows has done it - and that he was uber lucky to have it work out - was nice to hear as an experience that she may or may not have for herself in the future. The fact that he owned the complete set of manga from that title, alone, was praiseworthy - and it was also a dream that made her want a job even more.
As for Doku embracing the Social Link mindset, Rina could only dismissively grin and think to herself "Ten?? Well, good luck with that one," knowing that she had her own difficulty level set to 'hard mode' for later portions of her Social Link. Doku seemed like an alright and interesting guy, but, at least for the time being, she wasn't interested in getting a boyfriend or anything like that. In her mind, school was more important - at least, that's what her upbringing dictated. However, that wouldn't stop her from having fun, and friends; and Doku definitely seemed like a guy she could probably be friends with. The thought of that allowed her to loosen up and be more expressive, feeling more comfortable around the boy who exposed his nerdisms to her.
As she expressed herself more, Doku fell over from the surprise of a fist coming his way - one with a thumb pointed upward. Rina was minutely concerned, figuring a boy wouldn't be hurt from falling on his butt. In fact, she wanted to chuckle at the fact - but she also wanted to maintain her odd vocal demeanor that she was in the middle of, so she held the giggle back for the most part.
In response to her comment on wanting to make money, Doku offered to try to get her a job at where he worked. For a brief moment, Rina was skeptical about what kind of work it was, but as soon as she heard that it was a cafe job, oh boy did her mind do a 180. "A cafe? You could!?" She thought about what working at a cafe could be like, then, after the young man explained his connection with the cafe manager, the redhead added a thought that she had seen play out in a manga and figured it'd be funny if it happened. She'd probably have to work super hard to pull it off, but it might be worth it. "Yeah, if you can, that's great; I'd apprediate it! I seriously need the money...! I'd probably even get Dragon Mission 7, too, just to have something new to play, finally."
And with that, Doku offered to give her a chance to play the game - ...by going over to his place. Because of where they stood, in a shop within the city, Rina wasn't sure what Doku meant by 'come over.' When she thought of a 'collection' within context, she imagined shelves of manga and a glass case filled with figurines. Of course, she didn't see the teen as being rich enough to afford all that, but he was working, so there could be something to it. That said, would all that fit in a dorm room with roommates? Would they even be safe?? This led the girl to think of the... other... location type to 'come over' to.... But to know for sure, she had to ask.
"I mean... hanging out could be fun, sure, I'm not too busy, but~, when you say 'come over,' ...where're we talking about? Your dorm room, right?"
If it really referred to his dorm room, she'd be more willing to go, but she didn't forget that he was still a guy, and manga had exposed her to some scenarios that she'd like to avoid setting flags for.

Did Doku want a girlfriend? Sure I guess? Was Rina the girl he was aiming for? Nah. While he was quite the flirt, really needed to know someone before pursuing a relationship, hell he had just met Rina and this wasn't some wacky romance novel. Truthfully he was fishing for attention, he didn't have a whole lot of friends, so he was glad to have met Rina.
A job was nice to have, though truthfully he spent a bit more than he would like to admit on virtual cosmetics he regretted buying right afterward. Though it was nice to have some money to throw around and get what you wanted every so often. "The first thing I bought was a P.C it was really freakin expensive but it was worth it, I've had it for about 3 years and it still runs great, took a LOT of overtime, and kissing my bosses' ass..." He explained, not trying to flex his possessions, more so trying to tell Rina about the joy of money.
It seemed Rina was interested in his offer. He pulled out his phone, unlocking it before handing it over to the girl. "Well, put your number in, I'll talk to my boss on Monday and let you know!" Weird, he was asking for her number. Not a pickup line. Not a weird way to trick her into going on a date. He was just trying to help her out. "That, or I can give you Helen's phone number if you wanna talk to her directly?" He tapped his chin. "She dresses kinda funny, but she's this pretty blonde lady... The work isn't that bad, you just make coffee and bring out food, pretty relaxing and it smells really good, I don't even like coffee."
She stated she needed money. "Well, you're cute and a girl, so you're gonna make good tips!" He folded his arms before letting out a soft chuckle. "I mean there's this cute girl who's a regular and she tips me pretty well, but do I blame her? Look at me~ No wonder she comes back!" No Doku... it was the coffee...
"My... dorm? Where else?" Doku was genuinely confused. "I don't have a roommate, so I'm alone most of the day, I think the new one added multiplayer, so I can hook it up! Plus I can order a pizza!" He cracked a somewhat smug smile. "Orrr we could go out if you want something a little nicer-"

Doku explained buying a computer for himself with his pay; his first major purchase. Hearing this, Rina was shocked. The fair-faced teen contorted such to portray her disbelief and amazement at the same time. "THAT was the first thing you bought?!" she thought to herself, jaw agape as she tried to imagine the amount of butt-kissing Doku must've had to do. ...Then it dawned on her.... "Wait! He said three years, right?? He bought it three years ago?! How much money does he have now??" With that same look of disbelief and amazement in her eyes, she stared at Doku, in awe.... ...She closed her open mouth, thinking about herself in such a future....
When handed his phone with instructions to put her own phone number into it, among other options, she added her number to the phone. Rina wasn't sure if she was ready or willing to have a phone interview with a boss of any kind, yet, but she knew that she didn't have the nerve to call the boss, herself. It might've been one thing to walk into the cafe and happen upon her, but calling her up was no bueno in her mind.
The job description was pretty straightforward; what she expected..., aside from the 'making coffee' part. Rina had no idea how to make coffee. Tea was all she was familiar with: teabag, hot water, let it steep, and sweeten to taste. She wondered if she should learn how to do it before working there, or if the manager would teach her. After a quick thought, she felt it'd be better to show that she at least knows how to make the stuff. ...This could turn out pretty good. All in all, Rina was super thankful for the opportunity, and she expressed as much to Doku.
Then doku brought up tips. "Tips? Like tipping a pizza guy?" Rina was vaguely aware of what tips were: extra money that customers give you 'cause they like your service. That's what she understood of it. Her dad tipped the pizza guy, sometimes, and when the family goes to a restaurant, her mom and dad would e-tip at times. But she wasn't aware that the cafe had that sort of thing, too.
The young man mentioned a female customer that tips him well, ...but his assumed reasoning caused Rina to crack a smile. "H'yeah right. You sure she's not---...." Rina paused and her smile vanished. She glancing away, appearing to be pondering something. After a second, knowing that she stopped abruptly, she returned to the dialogue she was having and apologized, holding up a hand and lowering her head to gesture such, as well. "---Sorry. I was about to say something a little too mean without thinking. Lemme rewind...! Ahe'hem." She took a deep breath to symbolize that new speech was approaching. "Yeah right. I'll believe it when I see it." "Mm. Much better."
When the conversation shifted to playing Dragon Mission 7 at Doku's place, Doku clarified, adding mention of a new multiplayer option in the game and his ability to order pizza..., unless she wanted something nicer.... She smirked. "[Snerk] Show off.... Pizza's just fine, Mr. Moneybags," shaking and pointing the spine of her manga at the other youth. She intentionally didn't answer his question about the alternative meeting location. A hand on her hip as she moved the book away to her side; "...But yeah, I'm in."

Little did Rina know, Doku was broke- It took a lot of savings, birthday money, and maybe a little begging to his dad. His computer came out to about... 1500 USD. It was Doku's "baby" he took care of it, always cleaning the parts and upgrading it every so often.
Alright! Rina's phone number was acquired, it would be nice if he ever wanted to hang out, or he needed her for something. Plus, it was nice knowing he at least had a friend. He didn't have many of those, so took it happily. Getting his phone back sliding his phone into his back pocket. "I'll make sure to let you know if she wants an interview or anything like that, she's definitely hiring right now so you have a good chance!"
"Oh. No no" He leaned forward, "Go ahead~ I like feisty!" he said. "Can't be worst than what some of those girls at school say" He awkwardly laughed, but damn, he had to know what she was gonna say! "Well, you will if she comes in~" He gave a soft smirk, looking towards Rina before letting out a little laugh.
"M-Moneybags?!" He waved his arm dismissively. "I'm b-broke!" He admitted. "I mean I work as a..." He put his hands up and did air quotes around his next word. "barista..." funny word to say really. "I was just trying to be a gentleman, paying for your meal-" he chuckled. "I... didn't expect that answer-" He got a bit red, he hadn't ever gotten a yes like that before- Shit. Was this really what having a friend was like?! "I'll just... text you- when are you free?" He asked.

"Oh, cool...!" Rina was hopeful. Working there, part-time, sounded like a job she could manage. With Doku's claims of the place not really being too busy, The girl believed that this could be the best job option for here, right now.
----- After she held back on her words and chose something less problematic to say, Doku insisted that she just say it; he can take it. ...However, Rina... really didn't want to - and she felt that her unvoiced reasoning was sound enough to be right. So when Doku laughed, she awkwardly laughed alongside him, neither confirming or denying his statement before he continued on with the talk of the cute customer.
----- "Broke...?" Oddly enough, as he explained, it put things more into perspective for her; probably better to hear it now rather than later on. Hearing that he was just trying to be a gentleman, she perked up a little - but still refused it. Her face, alone, showcased the amusement amidst confusion that she felt. "H'Wheh---!" She contained her laughter, letting the smile show, and scrunched up her face as she shook her head rapidly a few times, inching her head back a bit as she did so. "H'What!?" It all came out in that moment: the chuckle behind her bright, white-lined smile, and her disbelieving eyes that wondered if he was serious but wasn't treating it as such, anyway.
"Even more of a reason not to! Heheh...!" She dismissively waved as she smiled. "Pizza's good, Doku; I don't need anything fancy."
In response to finding out when Rina was free, Rina... blinked.
"...? ...---! Oh! Not right now? ---I'm sorry! My bad, my bad! I thought you meant, like, we could go now-now." The redhead brought a few fingers to the edge of her forehead as she thought. "Uuuh...." She assumed today was no good for him, so she thought up another day. "How's~ tomorrow?" A Saturday; usually a much more free day for the teen.
Doku just dropped it, not wanting to pressure her, though it would linger in the back of his mind, the awkward laughs were a good sign to move on. He did like the idea of having a "work buddy" having someone to talk to at work would really help out with work!
"Yeah... Broke... I'm not some billionaire tech genius with a hard-on for dragons..." He slipped it back into his pockets. "I gotta budget these things!" He rubbed his neck a bit embarrassed. Hearing her bust out into laugher, just caused Doku to lightly rub his cheek while letting out his own chuckle.
"Pizza it is!" Not complaining, he loved pizza, and the local place would even drop it off at his dorm! "Oh... you wanted to come now?!" She must have been excited huh. "I gotta clean my room and let the game install..." his room was messy, so he didn't want Rina to see it at an early date. "Plus I gotta get some sodas! It'll be a fun day!" Doku's face lit up with excitement, this really was making him visibly happy, being able to play games with a new friend? Not something he got every day.
"Tomorrow is perfect! Come towards the morning! So we have plenty of time to play! I'll text you my dorm number, you can basically stay as long as you want." He checked his phone, replying to a message. "I'll get some snacks as well, any suggestions?" He asked.

"! Aaah, okay." Hearing the reason why the two of them couldn't go over to Doku's dorm room today, it did make some sense to the redhead - especially the 'clean room' part. It was a thought that, for some reason, never even surfaced in Rina's mind until that moment, and yet, she understood and respected the concept of having a clean room for guests long before enrolling into the hilltop academy. The tall lass was surprised she even forgot something so obvious in her eagerness to play the game.
Deciding on tomorrow to get together and play, Doku then mentioned that Rina come over in the morning at some point, giving the duo more time to invest into the role-playing game. "Okie-doke. I'll let you know when I'm coming over, then." Rina nodded acceptingly when she spoke, internally mulling over when to show up, making it more courteous and strategic than the notion was likely intended to be. "Ah. Cool-cool," was her response to being able to stay as long as she wanted. When asked for any snack suggestions, Rina considered the different things that she liked. She didn't want Doku to have to spend much, so she limited her options to a few choice items: honey roasted peanuts, grapes, and crackers. Deciding on one, she suggested to the boy "Grapes would probably be good," with a casual shrug. She figured that the grapes would be the best option to go with the pizza, health-wise, and if there were any left over, Doku would have non-junk food to snack on whenever we wanted.
Well, saying his room was messy was only half right. He had some things he needed to store away so Rina couldn't see them. What it was? That... wasn't important for now! Plus games were big, it would probably take a few hours to install. Sitting around awkwardly waiting for the game to install was the bane of every gamer's existence. Honestly, he could have saved the trip and got the game digitally, but something about owning the disc and adding on to the collection. Checking his phone yet again he sent a message to Rina, his dorm number.
"Alright. Hopefully, I'll be awake by the time you swing by." Why was he gonna be sleeping in so late? "Plus if we get far into the game... uh... you could... always... maybe... um..." He stuttered slightly, man, he sure was awkward. "Come over again to... finish it-?" Why was that so hard to ask? He felt weird, he hadn't really... had anyone come over to hang out before, ignoring the fact Rina was a cute girl, he just didn't have a lot of friends.
Grapes... got it! It would without a doubt be a healthy snack, something he didn't often eat. "So! I'm gonna get going! I'm hella excited about this! I'll see you tomorrow!" The purple-haired boy walked, rather quickly to the shop counter, buying the manga and game. Before giving Rina a quick wave, before exiting the shop.
